If anything they need to go back to old rule where you have to throw it in the area of a receiver.

im quite sure I had way too many beers when posting this but I found irony in the idea a QB gets penalized if he stops a play under directly by chucking a ball to avoid a hit while no other skill position really faces that issue.

Overall it's a really poor post but oh well

What is the QB penalty?...it is almost exactly like your fair catch analogy...qb throws it away, gets to keep ball at that spot and not get hit...really identical to a fair catch
