First of all if you don't understand soccer don't make an argument. Diving is a terrible part of the game, and unfortunately the best player in the world right now practices it frequently (Ronaldo).

that's what i was saying on the speed. i dont think they understand how fast that mother fricker is.

A great athlete is a great athlete no matter where they are from. There are hundreds of soccer players that if they would have been born in the US that would be in the NFL, NBA, or MLB.
To think otherwise is ignorant. Please tell me that Bastien Schweinsteiger couldn't be a WR or Safety in the NFL. 6'2" 210lbs with atleast 4.5 speed in the forty. The US does produce the best athletes in the world, but to think we have a monopoly on them is ridiculous.

Exactly, I brought this up the other day about how our athletes are much faster than other countries.

Besides Jamaica

Kobe could easily have learned how to curl a free kick instead of learning a jump shot. Just like Manu and Scola chose basketball over soccer because they were better at it.

We are one of the top countries in the Olympics and one of the top sports in our country isn't even involved. American Football probably trains more athletes in the US than any other sport in our country.

If we are one of the most dominate countries in the world in almost all sports and barely even try at soccer why is it so hard to believe we wouldn't be dominant in soccer if we tried? Do you really think one of the largest countries in the world could not crank out an elite set of soccer players if that was its main goal?

The US is competitive in soccer and it doesn't even try. Why would natural born soccer players be so much more concentrated elsewhere in the world.

And also too tall to excel in Argentina. Except for being a keeper.

But if you watch Leo Messi or Fernando Torres you'll appreciate the sport much more.

Speedy read the entire post or GTFO. I hate Ronaldo for his diving, but Messi hardly ever dives.

Because in the US soccer is a suburban sport and a way to get a college scholarship. Not a way out of the ghetto/barrio. In every other country in the world it is their NFL/NBA.

And I did it the copy/paste way, but that's the only way I see how you can do it. Oh well, this thread is nothing about that, and it's not a big deal, so this is my last post about it.

Hey glass if Arsenal somehow wins on Saturday against ManU, we can prevent them from winning the title. That would be a nice moral victory

At this point I will take any thing I can get. Just waiting for next year with Arshavin and a fully healthy Fabregas to dazzle the world.

On the 27th I will be rooting for ManU to keep the CL Trophy for the EPL.

No, I'm going for Barça and Thierry Henry to get a deserved title.

Speedy you really need to learn the game. Really only South Americans and Italians are horrific divers. The rest of the world(Africans) dive, but not on the level of the prior mentioned.

We will see EPL dominance again. 2-1 ManU.

You forgot the Portuguese Olympic Diving team starring Cristiano Ronaldo assisted by Deco and Carvalho. The Brazilians and Argentinians aren't terrible divers, it's mainly the lesser teams.

The Italians are the worst in international competitions for a football power. No doubt about it.

I hope Barca wins. I respect Ronaldo skills. He's an unbelievable player, but I can't go for im after his ridiculous flopping and whining.

Henry is one of the most under appreciated players IMO. While he gets lots of credit for his striker prowess, his full talent has never been fully appreciated. His passing and setup skills are so great and its nice to see them being used while with Barca.

I admit I'm not a fan. Dont follow soccer much, although I know of the major star players, but I can't get into the games. Tried watching the last World Cup, but the flagrant flopping/diving was ridiculous in the games I did try to watch.

Is there any move underway to curve tail it?

Yes, the penalties for obvious flopping/diving are more severe than ever. Hopefully these changes can become the norm rather than the exception.
