It was the Duck Commander Independence Bowl presented by CenturyLink. Probably not a good sign when you need a secondary sponsor in addition to the title sponsor.

To be fair, Centurylink sponsors EVERYTHING in the area. They must drop millions just on local deals.

Hopefully this time the city wakes up and passes the 1.25% hotel tax which will help upgrade facilities. Last time is was up for a vote, people saw "tax" and blindly voted against it even though it was only an additional tax on hotel guests. Not citizens of the city.

The "low information voters" are the ones who didn't support the tax...most reasonable people were overwhelmingly in favor of it.

I still have Sharpies from the Independence Bowl in 1998 when it was sponsored by Sanford. They work like a charm too. They were passing them out at the game and we just grabbed a shite ton of them.

It actually passed in Caddo, but failed in Bossier (which has more "higher information" voters). The problem was the white conservatives in Bossier saw the word "tax" and voted against it without reading that it applied to hotels only.

And in Shreveport, you had Barbara Norton opposing it. Enough said.

Low information voter does not just apply to blacks, liberals, or democrats, but it also applies to white, conservative, and republican. Bascially anybody that doesn't have a clue what they are pushing the button for so 80% of Louisiana voters qualify as low info voters.
