I'll start:

Over his entire career, Greg Maddux faced 20,421 batters.

Only 133 of them reached a 3-0 count (excluding intentional walks)

Mind blown.

ETA: Statistically, you have almost twice the chance of contracting gonorrhea than getting to a legit 3-0 count against Maddux.

Maddux's 2 seam fastball was a thing of beauty.

Since joining the AL West in 2013, the Houston Astros are 23-53 against the Rangers.

You truly have to try and be that bad, granted, they actually did that in 2013.

Tony Gwynn had more four hit games (45) than multi-strikeout games (34).

Father/son duo Bobby Bonds and Barry Bonds are both part of the 300-300 club(300 HRs and 300 SBs). There are only 6 other players in the 300 club.

Barry Bonds is the only player in the 400-400 club.

And the 500-500 club....

Nolan Ryan struck out 7 father-son combimnations.

Joe Sewell batted .336 in 608 at-bats and struck out only four times.

In 1997, Maddux won 19 games. He walked 20 batters all season.

Ted Williams won the batting title 6 times, yet he never led the league in hits.

The White Sox and Red Sox won the World Series in consecutive years in 1917 and 1918.

Then neither team won a World Series for 86 years.

Then in 2004 and 2005, the Red Sox and White Sox won consecutive World Series again.

The lowest I was aware of was 76 pitches against the Cubs.

On September 12, 1962, Tom Cheney, a pitcher for the Washington Senators, set a still-standing record by striking out 21 Baltimore Orioles in a 16-inning game.

Cheney's lifetime record was 19 wins and 29 losses, and thus he is the only player in history to record more strikeouts in one game than he had wins in his entire career.

I read 59 somewhere a few minutes ago - I also just saw the 76 pitch count as well.

My guess would be he threw 59 strikes. I think in that game against the Cubs he had double digit Ks.

ETA: looks like he threw 63 strikes in that game. Jesus. 6 Ks.

This is just a flat out lie. Almost every pitcher with 1 or 2 career wins probably falls in this category. How could you even believe that as you typed it?
