Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Lydon Murtha pulls back the curtain on what he saw and what he’s heard of the relationship between Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin, from the locker room dynamic to that now-famous O-line trip to Vegas

This is weird.
Sportswriters are the only ones benefiting from this situation and they've been misleading.
ETA: It's only pointing to Martin having a longstanding, unresolved emotional problem.

So this guy was a college teammate of incognito yet he has no dog in the fight? I'm not buying it.

This is exactly the type of defense that others player should've given towards the Saints during the bounty "scandal".
The two stories are really very similar, you have outsiders who never played competitive team sports - they just don't get it...
"How could somebody say kill the head? it's awful how could somebody say I'm going to frick you? that's awful".
It's too bad the Saints lost an entire season because nobody stuck up for them, but I'm happy people are sticking up for Richie

Yeah, he starts off saying he is friends with both Martin and Incognito, then says that he went to school with Incognito and never got close to Martin because he was stand-offish, shy and put up walls?
Yeah, this sounds pretty unbiased to me.

it may be biased but its a pretty believable story.

If you had to drink a beer with one of them, it's gotta be richie.
Screw the emo douche.

Kirk Morrison said all this same stuff about Incognito on Petros and Money a couple of days ago. He is probably biased, too, but this thing is definitely swinging the other way from the slant earlier in the week.

incognito is such a stand up guy and great teammate that he managed to get kicked out of 2 universities and cut from the rams?

He was there during training camp last year. Most interesting part was clearing up the Vegas money.

Liberal emo slant.
I'm glad it's losing steam.

Yeah, this could all be true, but the narrative coming from both "sides" is getting a little sketchy. It's getting really hard to trust anything you read.

This is such an interesting story to me. Richie sounds like your typical overgrown man-child who believes you need a tough skin to survive in life, and Martin sounds like he has plenty of emotional issues, the least of which being some sort of social anxiety disorder.
At the end of the day, being a professional football player is more than just being able to perform on the field, it's being able to handle the pressures of the "brotherhood" of the lockerroom. You see it in regular business today, the guy who doesn't "buy in" to the company gets left out in the cold. Unless you have an extreme amount of talent (I.E Rickie Williams) you need to have the ability to fit in at the workplace.

That is certainly part of the equation. But, as somebody said yesterday, have you seen even one player distance himself from Richie the way they did in the Riley Cooper thing?
