soccer...

it's my favorite sport, and when I go back home from playing overseas I can go out and be sociable without being noticed.

If you're the GOAT, you won't have that luxury, even in the US.

Good idea in theory, though.

Golf.

Huge paychecks, and can be played for a long time. Once you get older, you can still cash in on the Champions Tour.

Soccer or golf. It's a toss up. Both have tons and tons of pros.

Baseball. Less wear and tear on your body (comparatively), huge salaries, and no sport knows how to worship its old players like baseball.

TENNIS. I am #1 on planet earth and I am OBVIOUSLY the greatest of all time. the complete game. Serve, volley, net game. I win two or three majors a year for a few years, twice I win the grand slam in the same year. I speak French fluently and when I am interviewed winning the French open, I speak French with the crowd. They love me.
I speak Spanish fluently and I enjoy Barcelona and buenos dias to you too.
Since I am making this up, I am one of the best looking people on the planet too, so my advertising money would be astronomical. I get to do ads in three languages. Spanish, French and English.
I make Arnold Palmer money on ads. Nike sells clothes with my name on them. Not just the swoosh.
world class everything. Cities, hotels, food. culture.
you do not have to pretend to be stupid to have peer group approval.
success does not depend on others.
the game at that level requires the highest level of fitness, so longevity is not a given like in golf, but GOAT= all the money and fame you could imagine.
You lead your country in the Olympics, twice. Gold medals in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The cover of S.I. 8 times.
You meet the Queen of England after you win at Wimbleton, and after the 3rd time, she invites you back for a tete a tete.

You're probably right. But I'm from East TX, and I do know that Clint Dempsey can come home and go out without being hounded. Granted, he's far from the GOAT.

I disagree. Every sport does well with this. But baseball blackballs great players like no other sport.

That's pretty much Federer's life, except he is like 10-20 against Nadal.

Tennis or golf. Probably golf for the longevity, but I like tennis better.

Basketball would be a good one. 6'2 white guy being the best? I'd have a ridiculous amount of endorsements, loads of guaranteed money.

Golf - not very strenuous on the body, could play for a long time.

Soccer - loads of cash, foreign women.

Baseball I'm not a big fan of, but that guaranteed cash is nice. Tennis is another good one.

I think I'd enjoy being the greatest basketball player of all time. If people are saying I'm better than Jordan, the money would be absurd.

Floyd Mayweather is going to earn upwards of 180 million dollars for 36 minutes of work. I choose that one.
