This is as ridiculous as the Bama/NFL talk

No it’s not. That’s literally the only point anyone is making. Baseball is different tban football in this conversation. It COULD happen. It HAS happened.

It’s not even a hypothetical conversation

Of the sports, its the most likely. But a LOT would still need to fall in place for it happen once

There was the hockey team once made up college kids that got crushed by a pro team but a few weeks later beat them in a fairly important game LINK

To be fair the number of folks who might think that are very few and far between.

But yeah, many of my fellow LSU baseball fans I come across - most don't watch all that much MLB and they definitely don't watch much minor league baseball and I've heard more than a few say they assumed Power Conference college baseball the equivalent of AA ball....which of course is to be kind...... ignorant.

I love watching college baseball, but the number of middle-of-strike zone meatballs that are not put away in college are noticeable. MLB teams would hammer those pitches, ESPECIALLY not using wooden bats.

I mean, the Rockies hit seven home runs against the Nationals a couple nights ago. Most games between Arkansas/LSU and the Rockies would be comfortable Rockies wins, if not blowouts.

So you think the odds would be that lsu would go 0-162 I don’t think that accurate at all. And if they played the Rockies all 162 games it would be even better odds

They might win 10% of games but that’s being generous, and it would have to include an almost Skenes-level starter in the rotation.

It’s not just that very few of the LSU players have what it takes to one day be an MLB starter, it’s that even the worst MLB team is comprised of much more physically mature players with much more experience.

I would take a bad MLB team over the best college team of all time based on their average age alone.

They’re 10 years older, in the absolute prime of their physical ability, and they have 1000s of at-bats against pitching the college players rarely see.
