Why wouldn't he? His stock is high and NFL teams eat up "physical tools."
Logan freaking Thomas was drafted in the fourth, all you need to know.
This is the only way to go for him, and it's not really debatable.

Yup.
As I mentioned in another thread, him staying is like a gambler not hedging a huge potential parlay win. He stays and could very likely lose everything. Sits a year and what, transfer? Screw that, you take the guarantee.
No one with half a brain cell would do that. It's stupid college nostalgia or romanticism that has people saying he should stay.

Yea, Because what if he stays at OH St and tears a knee or shoulder up or breaks his neck or something crazy? He will have ruined his chance at the NFL. Kids play their whole life for the pro sports and the $. He would be dumb to stay in college

get paid young man
THIS.
even if he gets drafted in 6th round and just makes a team and hangs around on the bench for 3 years he will make over a million dollars during that time. that is life changing money for most 22 year olds. he won't make that doing anything else. plus the upside is gets into a program that has patience, and lets him develop as a back up for a couple of years and then he becomes really good and makes even more.

Cardale goes pro, Braxton to LSU. Barrett gets hurt in preseason. OSU wins ship with 4th string QB next year
In your scenario the new QB would be the 2nd stringer, but whatevs..

Jamarcus got drafted 1st based solely on his ability to throw long,
Even though it was the raiders, no man. Just no.

Yea plus Jamarcus was fat and couldnt run to save his life. This kid runs a 4.5 40.

I'm laughing at the thought of Cardale getting drafted by the Browns and becoming the fan hopeful over Johnny.
But I wouldn't wish getting drafted by the Browns to any Buckeye.

The fact that this guy and Cam Newton were both backups under Urban Meyer speaks volumes of how well he recruits.

Wasn't Kiper quoted as saying something along the lines of IF Cardale comes back next year he could be a top 5 pick in the 2016 draft? $$$

Haha I agree that JT is the man next year..Im positive I heard or read that somewhere. But with that high of a draft pick being contingent on him starting next year it is pretty risky. Cardale should take the sure thing and go now

I really hope that Cardale does well between now and draft day. He is gonna work his arse off and you know that Ohio State is gonna do everything in their power to get him the work that he needs to get him ready including his OSU pro day among everything else.
Credit to Urban Meyer if he does go pro, he changed this man's life forever.
If it doesn't work out, Ohio State will pay for him to come back and finish his degree. And if he can't find a job in hid field of choice, he will end up on TV and radio either nationally or here in Columbus.
He will have a safety net for the rest of his life due to his 3 games at Ohio State. He should write a book this summer after he gets drafted. It would be a great story, and probably could be a movie.

Kiper doesn't know shite. Especially about a guy that is this new to the scene.
None of the scouts really know. Hell, no one knows. There's no film on him other than out of the shotgun running reads and throwing off his back foot rolling out.
If he puts in the work, he could be a pro starter. He's got the mental ability IMO.

Would thing change an early teams draft mentality? Does a team like Tampa pass on a QB at the #1 spot and hope Cardale is there when they come back around?
Could be a really decent gamble for them

He could certainly be a second round gamble for a lot of teams.
They already gambled on a guy somewhat similar to Jones in Josh Freeman.

The gamble wasn't really just about him. I'm talking about the gamble of the draft strategy of passing up Winston and Mariota to hope for this guy in the second. If he's not there by some giant reach, they could be fricked.
Posted on 1/15/15 at 1:17 pm to BlacknGold
If you don't think that Winston and Mariota are first round players, then yes of course.
This just made draft day a lot more exciting for me.
I really hope this works out, and I think it will.
Even in the third round he will get around a million guaranteed money.
