Like everyone wants to shite on Saban for paying players but I don't think he does.

That doesn't really answer his question though.

Paying players in college is also explicitly forbidden.

I guess the practice is much more accepted in college. Paying players goes back to the very beginnings of college football in the 1800s. The salary cap is a relatively new advent into the pro game so there wasn't previously a need to pay under the table, so to speak.

Also, it's a lot cheaper to keep college players happy with a few thousand dollars here and there. You start paying NFL players under the table that can quickly get out of control.

Why did you call out Wade for months before his quotes hit them?
Because he's too angry and oddly shaped to convince teenagers to play for him without paying them.

Well I can't argue with that logic, especially coming from a fan of a team coached by the angry midget

It’s not cause of the law. Nobody in these circles gives a frick about that. It’s about the amount of money necessary to accomplish the goal

It’s a lot easier to hide the amount of money involved in college athletics than the tens of millions you’d need to hide in pro sports.

50 college teams are implicated with a shite ton of FBI wiretaps.

So is it the law?

Saban himself doesn’t pay players. Just like Coach K doesn’t play players. Probably no one on staff does. They have booster and bagmen networks that take care of all of that. I mean LSU does it too. They all do.

The Bama charger jokes are 100% true. But again LSU players all drive rides way above their means. I’m not calling out Bama, just you’re naive worldview.

Go read the sports nation bag man article. Get a few boosters with car dealerships. Put the car in an uncle’s name, say the family member paid cash. Boom, be as suspicious as you want of 18 year olds from below the poverty line driving $20,000 cars. No proof anything, no suspicious paper trail. Player has a benefit
