His defense over the last two years basically comes in with what LeBron aversages out to
Which isnt what this thread is about

just that steph is 100% plays above average defense
Here's your problem.

You're comparing historically good offense to historically good offense vs above average defense to the 1st or 2nd best defensive player in the game during his peak.

You think Drtg is a good way to judge an individual on defense? Honest question, this will go a looooong way in future conversations

I do think it's a good way to take a quick look at a player. But no, not any one statistic works as an end all be all

BTW, Lebron's career avg in win shares on defense is better than Curry's career best.

I already said that, what I said was that it falls in line. My point has never been that steph actually plays better defense. Just that he doesn't hold absolutely no water

Exactly. He has even admitted it. So he should be firmly on LeBron's side.

I've never "dickrode" Curry in my life.

Coming from the guy that swallows LeBron on here daily.

Except it doesn't. The stats that look at an "indivdual's" contribution, controlling for teammates and opponents on the floor, show LeBron is a better defender.

There you go again with assumptions.

that LeBron plays better defense? Sure. I'd still take Currys offensive production though

that's a pretty reasonable assumption given what we know about stephs abilities

No but you chose the lesser of the available statistics.

It doesn't fall in line though.

Sure, but that doesn't mean he's as good as LeBron on defense.

please explain to me how the fact that LeBron played over 300 minutes and usg% in the mid 30s and steph just doesn't doesn't effect stephs overall offensive production?

it kinda does. Just looking at them, he probably averages what? Between 4.8 and 5.2?

and I would personally take stephs offensive production right now over LeBron when he was in his final three years in Cleveland
