If you were an NFL GM or coach, tell me why Baker Mayfield isn’t the next Johnny Manziel?

Manziel was careless with the football quite often. Baker isn't. He's thrown less INTs in 3 years at Oklahoma than Manziel did in 2 years at A&M. Baker also completes more passes and has a higher yards per attempt and higher yards per completion average than Manziel did.
You take Mayfield over Manziel because he brings as much or more playmaking ability without the hard substance abuse problems.
That being said, lots of GMs will probably see Manziel 2.0 and pass on him.

I fully believe Manziel would have been a decent QB in the NFL if he wasn't a drug addict.

Antics aside, Mayfield seems to actually want to play football and put in the work that goes with it.
Manziel wants booze and women 6 days a week and show up on gameday and play.

Mayfield isn’t a party animal.
However, they may be the same height. Mayfield arm strength is avg. footwork is horrible. 1st round is too high a price to risk on him. There are 2nd, 3rd founders who very good qb in the nfl. Just trust your scout team.

Anyone who was a walk-on at two schools and came on to win the starting job eats and sleeps football.
Manziel was in football for the hookers and blow and the status it afforded him. If not for football, Manziel would be a douchebag car salesman working at the dealership his Dad runs. Read his family history, pretty eye-opening and should have made any NFL GM run away unless he was 4th round or lower.
I don't know if Mayfield is a pro, but his history says he is a grinder and big-time football is his dream. If I was a GM, I would take that guy over a guy like Manziel any day. On-field antics may be the same, but his chance of contributing is way more than Manziel's ever was.

Mayfield won a state title in HS, got no respect, walked on to TWO different schools with several scholarship QBs ahead of him, won the job at BOTH schools, set the world on fire at Oklahoma while winning the Heisman, and leads the nation in both completion % and yards per attempt which is a fricking ridiculous stat. He lives and breathes football. Manziel was a careless gunslinger who was an elite athlete that preferred partying.
