Not a rule change per se, but I'd like to see better enforcement of the traveling violation in basketball.

NBA - Charging: I think it's dumb that as long as a defender "beats" a guy to the lane and plants his feet it's an offensive foul. I've seen multiple instances where a guy is taking off from just outside the paint on a lay-up, and because the defender "beat" him to the spot and is outside of the restricted area, he gets the favorable call. What exactly is the offensive player supposed to do? Shapeshift out of the way? He's in mid air.
Then the refs missed the call. The defensive player has to be in the spot before the offensive guy leaves the ground.

Can we get a brain for the guy who thinks that the call on the field was the correct one.

To answer the question from the OP

I would say that the replay policy in NFL games should be to make the call on the field hold no value in determining the play.

The call on the field is a judgment call. Why is it not ok to make a judgment call with the benefit of replay?

I agree with you.

And for the record, I am an old white man.

I'd move the Astros back into the NL and contract the Brewers cause FU*K Bud Selig.

Kind of like the "running into the kicker" rule is to the roughing the kicker, id have a five yard penalty and no automatic first down version of the roughing the passer rule when it's obvious that some incidental contact was made by the defenders hands to the passers helmet.

If anything, the DH rule needs to also be implemented in the NL. I get no enjoyment out of watching pitchers bat.

so one bad call supersedes 120+ years of baseball? you said it yourself, its a great rule. get over yourself. you act as though youre (your team) the first in history to get fricked by an official

So you can't just foul every time on defense with no consequence?
In what world does fouling every time on defense have no consequence?

It's the one track mindset, because it's always been that way, you can't think of it being any other way.

NFL Olineman can hold every snap if they want, should they institute a rule that says 3 holds and you're out of the game?

So the strategy would be to foul on every high percentage shot

The numbers favor the defense in that scenario
Until you get in the bonus with 8:30 to play in a quarter and every foul is 2 shots.

Then the offense gains the favor.

there'd never be a layup or dunk-- better to foul and make them earn it at the line. the amount of free throws would triple. and make the NBA unwatchable. no thanks....

First things first I'm not for eliminating fouling out, I was just responding to a couple of direct posts.

When does any nba team allow a dunk or layup without contesting or fouling now without that rule?

you can contest- in a legal way. very often they dont just outright foul b/c its mid 1st qtr, they already have 1 foul, and they dont want to sit for 6 minutes. in your scenario, its frick it- not like it matters how many fouls i commit. it would destroy the flow of the game. and make it unwatchable.
