Yes.

He is the best QB in the NFL.

No. Peyton Manning is. Brett Favre, at his best, was also better than Brady. But Brady will make the HOF.

I think so....His stats ARE very impressive better than I thought...I guess it is my contention that if a player stepped in, was a member (granted, VERY important member) of a team that was very successful but only played a very short time it should be detrimental to his chances...IMO he is on the cusp and with not much more at all he is in no question...some of the reasons given are BS though, but I am not smart enough to do multiple quotes so I won't address separately...You guys have shown me he is much more than just a caretaker of a good team.

I will think on it some more and let you guys know if you are right or not...

7 years starting at QB in the NFL is a "very short time"?

Such as?

Your reason was that his football career is overhyped because of his personal life.

I don't think I said that...

I think the Super Bowl wins are overrated as a qualification...His STATS, however, certainly would justify his election IF they continue..

I suppose we should put all of the linemen who blocked for him in also since they were on those teams...

I have no like/dislike for the guy and think there ARE good reasons on both sides...

It is easy to go back and find some people of questionsable credentials, e.g., Sayers (?) Namath etc. and some that should be included...just asking the question...

I think if you look back you will see more than that Coco... But really even stats are misleading. I mean A. Manning's stats would undoubtedly be better if he had been on better teams as would Bert Jones...These are the hypotheticals that are very hard to work through I guess...Also I would be more impressed with his SB wins and MVP's if they were stretched out over time...I just think it shows sustained talent...7 years is right there...

First off, I think Brady's body of work already justifies HoF-dom when the ballot comes around.

However,

Have you seen their offense without him?

How much better do you think Matt Cassel would be if he knew the defensive playcalls every down, like Brady did last year, and presumably the several years before?

Find another argument. Spygate was before the bulk of last season and he set records because he finally had a couple of good recievers to throw to.

Also, why didn't Bledsoe benefit from "knowing the defensive plays every down". I believe that the benefits of the whole spygate thing has been greatly exagerated(sp). But that's a discussion for another thread.

So spygate happened week 1 and the rest of the league decided to just be lazy when they played NE and not change any signals so they could help the pats go undefeated?

OK...points well written (most) and well taken...

We are all agreed...He needs a couple more seasons of league play but his potential is damn promising...
