Yeah I see the other side of the argument too. I just have a law background so I'm all for rules being strictly read. ESPN is spewing what is "right" and in my opinion that can't come in to play.

Tiger didn't know what he did was wrong. That doesn't mean that he shouldn't have reasonably known what he did was wrong.

You've got to be trolling.

They told him he was fine prior to the end of his round.

Once again, not knowing what the golfer himself knew....that he did not take a drop as near as possible to the original shot.

So all of the rules officials who looked at the video originally should be fired immediately and barred from every being invovled in another tournament?

Once again, they did not have the crucial piece of information....the player himself ADMITTING to not dropping the ball as near as possible.

Based on Rule 33 and the corresponding examples, he was not penalized enough.

So the original video suddenly changed???

Thats what they looked at... "Close Proximity".... It was close enough at first view but suddenly changed after.

They probably looked at the video and were like we will give him the benefit of the doubt, ANAP isn't exactly a technically inch or foot standard....

Then Tiger comes out and blatantly says he did not drop ANAP and he did it for an advantage, so he wouldn't hit the pin again..

Whole new ball game

They made the ruling because of Tiger's statement after the round. At least that's what they said in their official statement.

If that's the main thing that can get you to be a tiger than you have more issues at hand. You can stay in your normal I'm gonna wait till tiger does something wrong and bash him all day mode.
