Herbie actually said - if LSU loses by 3, they would be the favorite to play Bama in the Title Game.

Boise - it's this year or never.

Yeah in theory that's what should happen, but the coaches have too much power and might not let it happen when they send in their final rankings. Note that Michigan lost by 3 on the road to Ohio State and the talks of a rematch died down over a one week period (06-07 season)

Yeah, it really seems like this would be Boise's chance, if they were ever gonna get one.

Because nobody wants to see them get their arse beat again by lsu/bama

The problem is that any team you put in that game will get their arse beat.

oregon can't get in over a 1 loss LSU team. for oregon to have a chance LSU would have to go undefeated or lose 2 games

If they won't allow a Bama/LSU rematch then NO!

1) If LSU wins, people won't want to see a rematch
2) If Bama wins, it's hard to see voters putting you above an LSU team that beta you earlier in the season (given you both have 1-loss).

Why they won't get in.

When push comes to shove (now that voters have choices that can come to fruition unlike the old system) I believe the voters will decide and pick the best storyline for the game because the SEC winner will be such an overwhelming favorite. Voters have shown the last week, they scrap their season-long vote and decide the game. Boise would get in over Oregon. The clamor would be for them.

As a fan I don't want them in the BCS CG. I want them to go win the Rose Bowl and get that monkey off their back.
