If LSU wins tonight, are they one of the greatest teams of all time?

No, LSU defense is pretty shitty.

Statistics and schedule AND scoreboard... it’s hard to argue against this team being the GOAT

Sure, we can't have a champion in CFB anymore without this discussion, so why not.

To be fair, having an extra marquis game because of the CFP does help the resumes.

As for the OP, LSU is going to have a ton of individual and team hardware if they win it all. Can't recall a team that can say the same.

8 top 10 victories? That’s pretty fricking elite.

It's pretty easy to argue against that. There was a 3, 5, and 7 point margin of victory on the schedule. 1995 Nebraska, who defeated 4 top 10 teams (teams that finished in the top 10, not preseason top 10 teams), their closest game was a 14 point victory.

No issue with that. It's subjective but it would be hard to make an argument against it.

I think it depends on the margin of victory. If they go out and blow Clemson's doors off, then yeah, they are right there in the conversation. At least one of the best offenses of all time.

Wrong.

Achievements will be greatest of all time in a single season. Can not argue against this teams results against all acceptable metrics.

I think schedule-wise you might call it the greatest SEASON ever... however with the defense not being dominant I would hesitate to call it one of the greatest teams ever.

'09 bama is up there if we're talking achievements. Undefeated national champs. Heisman winner, beat #2, #3, #10, #17, #20 (in the final poll).

We're all prisoners of the moment.

One of the greatest, yeah.

The greatest...they need a big win tonight to be in that conversation. Teams like Nebraska, Miami and 04 USC all blew away the opposition in the NC game.

They would have to be in the discussion -

15-0 (if we win)

7 Wins against Top 10 teams!!!

Heisman Trophy
Maxwell Award
Walter Camp award
Davey O'Brien Award
Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award
AP College Player of the Year

NCAA record holder for single-season completion percentage

SEC Record holder for Yards and TD passes in a single season (IF he throws 3 tonight he will tie the NCAA single season record)

Thorpe Award
Fred Biletnikoff Award
Joe Moore Award (Offensive Line)

1st Team All SEC
QB - Joe Burrow
RB - Clyde Edwards-Helaire
WR - Ja'mar Chase
C - Lloyd Cushenberry

OLB - K'Lavon Chaisson
CB - Derek Stingley JR
S - Grant Delpit

2nd Team ALL SEC
WR - Justin Jefferson
OL - Adrian Magee
OL - Damien Lewis

DL - Rashard Lawrence
CB - Kristian Fulton
S - Jacoby Stevens
K - Cade York

Broke Clemson's 29-game winning streak and Alabama's 31-game home winning streak. These 2 teams represent that last 4 National Champions.
