I am tired of the excuses for Peyton Manning not winning more titles. The guy has a history of choking. His offensive weapons have always been superior to Brady's and Eli's. You people can throw numbers around all day long but if Eli wins more SB titles that's all that matters. Eli just played one of the best games of his life against GB and all you guys can talk about is SF but nobody talks about the shitty weather. Still 0 turnovers, over 300 yrds passing and 2 touchdown passes.
Wow

To small minded people, yes.
To intelligent people, no.

Let me preface by saying I really don't disagree with your opinion on Eli but:
Eli has nothing to do with this?
quote:
but Victor Cruz was a top 3 WR in the league this year, and Cruz/Nicks/Manningham is up there with the best WR core in the league
Eli has nothing to do with this?

Because of Manning. The quarterback made the receiver, not the other way around.

Eli isn't top 3 in any major statistical category and is barely top 5
Top 5 out of about 50 or so quarterbacks who threw passes this year.
Rodgers/Brees/Brady were the top 3 this year, but Stafford and Eli were right behind them and the margin was almost negligible.

The bottom line is that Eli Manning is a gamer.
Signed,
Tom fricking Brady

Everyone QB has something to do with WR production, but do you watch Cruz play? The kid runs great routes and has awesome hands. There's been multiple times this season where he's taken a routine throw and made a huge play out of it. In fact, Cruz is second in the NFL to Welker in yards after the catch.

I was not aware you could fit that much retardedness in 4 sentences.

using the argument of Eli not being Elite because he's being carried by a strong defense while sucking off Tom Brady(who won 3 SB's with top 5 defenses every season) is also extremely retarded.

This right here. The Patriots haven't won a Super Bowl since Romeo Crennel peaced out.

Peyton and it's not close. Eli has the benefit of an unbelievable defense and a veteran group of guys who don't choke when the game is on the line. Also has an above average run game and plays power football. Indy never committed to the power run game and got outplayed outdoors in the playoffs several times.

Some on this board may hang themselves or sleep with heads in the oven if Eli wins in two weeks.

Anybody that uses SBs to determine if someone is elite is retarded.
Brady doesn't just get love for winning 3 SBs he gets love for being amazing. As soon as Eli has a season like Brady's '07, '10, or '11 then maybe he can throw his name into the elite category.

Yeah most people with any common sense will probably need to stay away from the MSB if the Giants win because all the dumbasses will be out saying a 31 year old QB with 3 good seasons (thats being generous saying he was good in '10 when he threw 25 INTs) is better than his HOF brother because he has more rings.

Exactly. In Brady's last four seasons, his TD/INT numbers are 153/37; Eli's are 114/65.
So Brady gives you 39 more scores and 28 less turnovers in four years, which is a staggering difference.

I agree. I think what he's done in clutch situation through the regular season and these past two play off games speak more than one more SB win.

Lets talk about WR talent. Brady had some amazing talent on those teams. Randy Moss for a bit. Wes Welker for all of them. Everyone kept talking about that 2007 season of having Eli benifit from great WR's. His WR corp has been crap every year but this one since that season. And I don't think they're as good as some are hyping them.
Victor Cruz is their best but I rank him as just a "good" WR. As said earlier, he runs good routes and has good hands. Congrats....that's pretty much expected out of any WR in the NFL. YAC was brought up as a statistic referencing Eli benefiting from Cruz. A great QB places the ball to where the WRs DO get good YAC. Eli places the ball in perfect places to help allow this.

Without Tom Brady, Welker would be bagging groceries. Randy Moss was traded for a 4th round pick because the Raiders thought he was done.
You are acting like he was only throwing to Megatron, Andre Johnson, or Larry Fitzgerald.

and just to place my stance on the OP's question.
No. Peyton Manning is the best QB in the NFL, IMO.
Literally no other QB in the league controls the offense like he does.
