The 3rd pick is likely Sewell from Oregon who some say is a generational OL prospect. If he's there for Cincy that was always a no brainer. If they had a top 2 pick and someone wanted a QB they should take offers to move up.

I assume you're talking about a 2021 and a 2022 first round pick? Because how many teams have two firsts this year? (I assume Miami does)
Yea, I assumed it would be swap this year's 1st rounder and then next year's.

Secondly, the 5th overall pick is worth roughly 400-450 points out of a 1,000 point scale for #1 overall (this is generic as the #1 is more valueable in 2021).

You could maybe get 2 very late first round picks for that.
Nah, a team could do way better than that I'm sure. On Pro Football Reference, the 5th pick is worth 1700 points with #1 being worth 3000 for reference. This seems to be the most common points scale I have found.

Just randomly, the 26th and 30th pick are worth a total of 1320 points. Meaning, they're not worth the 5th pick, you'd need more to get you there, a higher pick in the 1st round plus a later 1st would be what is needed.

They should draft Penei Sewell 3rd.

He is the best LT since Orlando Pace.

Don’t get cute. Draft the beast and have him in place in year 2 when Burrow comes back.

They should draft the OT from Oregon and move Jonah to RT. Go for OGs in 2-5 and bring in a FA or 2.

If they didn’t do this before his line got him killed, what makes you think they’ll do it now? Everyone knew how this was going to play out and it went exactly as expected.

Whatever happened to Jonah Williams from Bama?

Has he sucked dick this year or something? I know it isn't enough but he was a highly touted 1st in 2019.

1 sack allowed in 546 snaps.

No. They should take Sewell with the 3rd overall pick.

First several picks in the draft should be OL. Then a couple more the following year, plus if they can do anything in free agency.

The offense is decent and defense definitely needs work, but protecting your franchise QB has to be the #1 priority. Joe will carry them if they give him what he needs, that much is clear

this mentality just fascinates me, like a simply acquiring more OL = good, highly drafted OL have busted before

Also not all OL problems are because the team "ignored" OL. Cincinnati did draft OL in the first round of the last 2 drafts. Drafting more won;t matter if they aren't any good and maybe its not all on the OL not being good but maybe coaching or schemes or play calling? Maybe the coach could do more to help the OL and lastly sometimes its on the QB. In 2011 Denver gave up 42 sacks, in 2012 they signed Peyton Manning and only gave up 21 sacks. I don;t know about Free Agents but They only draft 1 OL in 2012 and it was late

Problem is teams will know this and won’t give them the value you think they will get.

Teams are more desperate to move up for QBs than the bengals are to move down

The Bengals will be drafting around 4 to 8 so is Wilson worth the 4th to 8th pick?

Jags and Jets will be in front of them and most likely take the 2 top QB. Plus the Jags or Falcons easily can take a QB so why play pool with the Bengals?

They're 3rd now abd lost their entire spark on offense (Burrow and Mixon).

Doubtful they win many more, if any.

Correct

I was going to say, they may have a shot at drafting Sewell now. Almost assuredly they will.

I think they beat someone like Dallas because it’s what the Cowboys do after Thanksgiving. So that puts them behind Dallas. Plus they play NYG and who knows what they are capable of (it’s the East)

They should lose to
Steelers
Ravens
Dolphins

Texans should beat them but I have no clue about them

The OP stated specifically about the bengals having a top 3 pick

So you think someone is going up to get Fields if Jax takes Sewell? Because the smart thing is to get Sewell with 2nd pick (whomever owns it)

I just do not think teams will move to get Fields at 3. Maybe at 4 they will.

But what will jack everything up is if Lawerence doesn’t declare.

They just played a team from the NFCe, lost, got their QB maimed, and the backup had 30 yards passing but lost 31 yards in sacks. Jets aren't on the schedule so they're not beating anybody.

As for the OP, They should take Sewell. 1st rd Olineman aren't really a safe bet so don't trade down for non-elite prospects.
