Montana never played in five super bowls either.

I think that your level of emotional investment in the Pats is causing you to misinterpret my posts in this thread. I'd be defending Brady had Evans actually made that catch. I'm mocking the hypocrisy of that "field general" "winning is all that matters" crowd. Brady should be on any GOAT short list and is obviously a fantastic football player

right, I'm Brady is the GOAT because Adam Vinateri made FG's in the driving snow and Drew Bledsoe played well in the AFC CG.

Winning is everything. The QB is the field general of a football team. The more successful the team is because of the QB, the more the QB should be credited as being superior when compared to other QBs that have achieved less with their teams.

It's not that silly.

You're right, that's not silly, that's fricking retarded.

Are you saying Vinateri made those big FG's in 2001 because Brady was his QB?

It's absurd that a kicker making or missing a kick can somehow define a QBs legacy as either a "choker" or a "winner". Eli became better than Peyton yesterday because the SF return man fumbled and the Giants kicker hit a FG. Real fricking logical. This place is starting to make me bitter apparently

Of course this is subjective and opinion based...I was just defending my rationale for determining the GOAT. I do not invalidate others opinions as long as they are willing to defend their logic and opinion. It's amazing how some are so quick to criticize someone's opinion without stating their own.

but whatever.

Stupidity makes me mad too, maybe I should not hang around here so much

The sad part is the simpletons will say, why yes, Brady's a winner because he got his team in FG range in SB 36 and Vinateria made a long FG, but Jim Kelly is a loser for doing the same thing and Norwood missed it.

If you think Vinateri would have been in a position to make those big kicks without Brady, then someone else maybe retarded.

So, your saying Jim Kelly should be considered with Montana and Brady?

I'm all ears.

That's not the point, the point is you are changing your opinion of Brady based on whether Vinateria makes a kick or not, that all just proves its a, get ready for it a TEAM GAME.

Nope, but you are too stupid to realize things aren't either or.

The point is Kelly did the EXACT same thing in SB 25 that Brady did in SB 36, to say Kelly is a loser or choker because of a missed FG is just stupid.

You are so dense. Brady is great because of his individual accomplishments, not because of his team's success. Obviously, Brady has been a gigantic factor in the Patriots' dominance in the past decade (or at least most of the decade).

Why should Brady's abilities be influenced by Adam Vinatieri?

Why should Jim Kelly's abilities be influenced by Scott Norwood?

To you, the kickers somehow affect the QB's abilities and how much of a "winner" they are. However, whether or not the kick ends up like Cundiff's shank and Tynes's blast through the uprights does not affect the performances of Flacco and Smith, respectively.

I GET IT! It's a very subjective topic. How exactly do you determine the GOAT? There is no "right" way. If you have a better way, then please say so, otherwise....

Seriously, who do you consider the GOAT (QB)?
