You need to cool it with this sophomoric, superfluous drivel.

Still don't understand why this shite keeps getting posted for every sport?

This isn't the 1960's and it's a big city not Tallahassee on Saturday or Tuscaloosa.

People have TV's at home and other distractions. Pro sports in big cities isn't the only game in town like Friday Night Lights in West Texas.

Plus the modern day costs of let alone just beer in an Arena in big cities is insane and the food? People have big screens at home with cheaper food and no lines for the bathroom.

In today's age and prices...this is no longer a put-down for a fanbase - it's just trolling...like every major city should be like small-town dicksville high school football town and that's their entire life. Going to the game.

Pro sports suffer in big cities because people don't want to spend the money when they can see it better on TV, it's a pain in the arse to park, the tickets cost too much and the food and drink is WAY overpriced.

What's fun about that?

Hawks streak and demand is mostly from Western and Northern burb families these days, man.

The JVP crowd that was so prevalent at Wrigley all those years never really took hold quite like that at United, and now it's not like that at all and hasn't been for a while.

Those tickets are just too damn expensive, and the JVP types don't make enough money to justify it with any regularity. Getting good ticket prices for decent seats is impossible.

I don't know man. I had a partial season ticket package for 9 years, and the crowd in the 300 level is great. Yes, there are a lot of suburban families, but also a huge crowd of 20-30 somethings and a TON of fine trim. It's fantastic.

I gave up my season ticket package for this year not because I'm no longer a fan, but because it simply didn't make economic sense anymore. When I first bought in my tickets (300 level) were $11.25 a ticket. Last year they were about $70 a ticket...and that's the lowest price level. I was losing money any time I had to sell. So I think they found the point that the market will bear.

That is not true, and I am not a Chicago sports fan.

Cubs did very well in attendance for decades and decades considering how shitty they were. Bulls just had the longest sell out streak in the NBA end recently. Bears fans are loyal as shite, and they still do very well in attendance even though they haven't been relevant except for a year or two in the lifetime of a lot of people on this board. Hawks attendance only really sucked during the last years of Papa Wirtz.

I am not a native, but I'd give Chicago a lot of credit for being a loyal sports city, especially compared to its peer cities.

I agree with all of this. I'm a Packer fan, but I will say Bears fans are loyal. Cubs obviously. Chicago is similar in its support of teams to Boston.

Hawks are the toughest ticket in town and will be for a few years until the bears figure it out.
