It's crazy how regional these teams are. You could probably get 30,000 OSU fans from Arizona & California to attend this. You don't even need Ohio residents to pack it out.
Yeah all you need is a team that doesn't get blown out by Purdue and you're set.

No idea how this shite stadium got in the rotation.
It should be the new years 6 sites in rotation only for NC game
Rose
Sugar
Orange
Fiesta
Peach
Cotton

Lowest you can find for LSU UT is 200

Indy would do a great job and get good attendance, too, IMO.

It's also because people are tired of Alabama in the national championship game.

2018 Alabama-Georgia $1,752
2017 Alabama-Clemson $1,737

Not surprised. Resources strained for most folks already.

I hope the stadium is empty and no one watches.
Tired of Bama getting every advantage and easing in the playoff whether they deserve it or just "the eye test"!

Could be worse.
They could murder you like LSU & Bama fans do when their team takes a loss.

30% of people in the greater Phoenix area are originally from Ohio

Indianapolis gets a shot in a few years. Future sites for the championship game are:
2019 season - New Orleans
2020- Miami
2021- Indy
2022 - new stadium in L.A.
2023- Houston

Cold weather and no tourist attraction. What is the appeal of Indy? That is some Jim Delaney bullshite

Doesn't surprise me. They have their own city called Buckeye.

I think for the semis, you need sexy destinations with good weather. For the championship, you just need a good host/venue for the weekend prior to the game. I've heard media guys say every Super Bowl should be in NOLA and every Final Four in Indy. Indy is a better championship site than anything other than Rose/Sugar/Jerryworld IMO.

Indy’s not that bad. Honestly. We drive up occasionally from Louisville for a day trip just to BS around somewhere different and there’s some decent attractions in Indy, especially for families.
They also do a great job hosting major collegiate events like that. Everyone I know, UofL and UK fans, who have been to Indy for the NCAA Tournament enjoys the trip.

They need to stop having it on a Monday as well imo.
This is important, too. Plus, it's on a Monday, a week+ removed from the major holiday season of Christmas/ New Year's. Most people have to get back to work.
A game on New Year's Day may require 1 day of vacation used: January 2nd.
A Monday game on January 7th, requires 2 days vacation.

I don't doubt Indianapolis is a nice place. I'm just saying there's no uniquely appealing thing about it to tourists around the country like Southern California, New Orleans, Miami, Arizona. Even Dallas and Atlanta have a lot more going for them in that regard. You want to have it in the frigid Midwest? Put it in Chicago for God's sake

Takes 30 seconds to figure out why prices are so low...
Plane tickets to the bay area from BHM or ATL are outrageous.
