I've been playing with Noodle golf balls. So far so good. I'm about a 20 handicap so I need a soft ball. ProV1's aren't good for my game.

Top flight gamer is a cheap ball that compares to the proV very well.

I play pro V1 personally but all the balls are good. I like the bridgestones a lot too

I just quickly read up on the Gamer V2. I will give it a try. Has good reviews and Golf Digest seemed to like them. Thanks for the advice.

I haven't played the latest versions of the b330 but they never seemed that durable to me

That has always been my beef with prov's as well though they have improved

I've been flat out impressed with the Z star though. I can play 18 and it looks brand new

You can hardly scuff a yellow one unless you hit a cartpath. If you can get over playing a yellow ball

Zstar just feels hard to me. Not a bad ball, not digging it at all but for me if I'm paying 45 a dozen I'm getting proV

I have recently been playing the Taylormade TP LDP black and red balls, but I think they are discontinued. You can still find some in on used golf ball sites or lakes of recent courses I've played.

Srixon Q Star FTMFW. I found one a few weeks ago and played with it and loved it so I bought a few sleeves. Great distance off the tee and soft feel. I like the yellow but they also come in pure white. I also like the Bridgestone e6.

I heard a lot about them as well and I am playing them now, I'm not as impressed as I was expecting. I was a little more accurate on my iron shots and off the tee, but the thing gave me no feel around the greens, the spin is not great and it just doesn't land very soft IMO. Of course you are looking for less spin so maybe that's a good thing

If they weren't so damn expensive. Dick's had a "special" where you get $35 off if you bought 3 dozen. I had a card I got from father's day and used it. Ended up getting them for around $25/dozen when all was said and done

That's the trade off for the cheaper ball. I can spin them pretty good except on a really hard green. Sometimes a high spin ball can hurt you on a full wedge. Spun a ProV off the green couple of weeks ago when my ball mark was 2 ft from pin

Edwin watts has 3 dozen for 99 and you get a free srixon hat or towel

Picked up 3 dozen last week and that should last me quite a while

It's good enough for Mickelson.

Pro V1

Still the best ball out there imo.

"The best ball out there" is different for every golfer

But I see countless 24 handicappers slicing prov1 after prov1 out of bounds and they just don't get it

No.

I'm a 7.2 who has the ability to be ridiculously errant. A ProV1's spin does me no good.

People here are misunderstanding spin as simply the check up around the green. I'm specifically referring to side spin when I slice or hook the shite out of it...
