This is far better than in years past but still not good enough. It doesnt even compare to a lot of the better teams in the cups final 32, not even top 10.
For instance, AC Milan, while a good club, isnt really in the top 15 clubs in the world.

Man Utd
Aston Villa
PSG
Inter
Benfica
Sporting CP
Atletico Madrid
Maybe not even top 20.
They are a far cry from their Kaka and Schevchenko days.

Well, yeah, this generation didn't even come up in the MLS academy era and is the first one to really get embraced by Europe as a finishing school. This is the first generation to shed the anti-American bias of the past.

The USNT is currently in the 12-20 range, probably around 15.

We have Antonio Freemans son Alex on the team who spent his entire life playing soccer.
He plays right defense, one of westcoastags examples of positions that our incredible us athletes would be a huge advantage. He still isnt even close to a top 50 right back in the world and wouldn't even make the roster for spain/france/england/morocco

Barcelona sure. But that’s not really Madrid’s model. Also a lot of those youth are coming from South American countries historically so they’re not all playing for Spain.

You don't get to jump in here and dictate what this thread was about. It absolutely was based on the premise that America as a whole went "all in" on soccer; and therefore, it is NOT only about superior athletics. It is about the total athletic pool in combination with the assumption of elite coaching.
And no one gives a shite that you are some self proclaimed expert on soccer while the rest of us are bumbling idiots. You sound like a doofus.

Our current skill level/ability with NBA size and athleticism would transform the team and be something soccer has never seen. Would it put us past Spain/France consistently? Probably not, but we'd probably get into that next tier.
The defense alone would be unfathomable. Imagine a bunch of 6-6, stronger versions of Ream/Richards and faster/stronger FBs than Dest/Robinson....and probably a 7-ft + keeper with a massive wingspan and faster-twitch muscles. In front of them would be a faster/stronger Tyler Adams that is 6-4 or taller, instead of 5-9.
Literally take our guys and their skills/flaws and just make them the "NBA athleticism" (with a haircut for the aerobic/anaerobic issues I discussed earlier) version.
They are arguing THAT wouldn't be a scary arse team.

Sure, identify the kids by 10 years old and send them off. Fine. If this happened with all of the Jamarr Chase, DK Metcalf, and Dylan Crews type athletes in the US...
