But he didn’t get that money. He’s making significantly less now

The lesson to learn from Nico isn’t “get that money” or “don’t get that money”. It’s to understand your actual worth. He made some great throw last year but was wildly inconsistent and couldn’t hit a deep ball to save his life. His dad convinced him he was an elite qb and to try to squeeze more money from Tennessee. Tennessee said F off and it backfired wildly for him.

I think there's evidence to suggest that it rarely does work out in the long term.

I had a fear of the NIL shite just completely running college football off the rails and I’m still not completely convinced it won’t.

However, I think we are starting to be able to see a few cautionary tales, like this idiot for one, that are serving to help sort it out.

Is the college game cycling more toward a game manager type quarterback versus the gunslinger type that has been dominating recent years, and that possibly playing a part in why these guys don’t seem to be panning out?

Nico is the QB that has all the physical tools but just isn’t a good QB.

Accuracy is a physical tool and he ain't got that. I was barely paying attention to that game and looked up one play where he had his TE open by 5 yards right past the line of scrimmage and he overthrew him.

UCLA down 38-10 early 4th to Utah while Nico looks like arse

On the same day Aguilar looked decent for UT

Sometimes chasing the bag doesn’t work out

I mean, he got the bag right? Seems like it worked out for everyone but UCLA.

Nico is the classic case of relying on purely physical skills.

If his first read isn’t open, he takes off and runs. He doesn’t have the pocket presence or state of mind to let the play develop and go through his progressions.

Huepel really had to dumb down the playbook for him. There was a marked difference in the variety of plays he and Hazle called yesterday with Aguilar at the controls.

No. His little stunt cost him money. He is making less at UCLA and will probably not make any money in the NFL.

And Deshaun Foster may be the worst HC at a named school. My god they are so bad in every phase.

I sort of feel bad for Foster. He was stuck into a bad situation when UCLA begrudgingly decided to retain Chip, only for him to bolt in mid February.

UCLA probably should've just slapped an interim tag on him and let last season play out while doing a proper coaching search.

I hope he's happy too. His kid has made like $5 million plus for 3 years in college
