Dayum. On a play like that as the runner, you are trying to watch the base, throw, and read the movement of the pitcher all at the same time. Chances are he never saw Huddy's foot
Right, also usually on that play the guy is out by a decent amount if executed so you can kind of avoid the guy. But the ball was bobbled, EY is really fast, and Hudson had his foot on top of the bag

Hudson has always been a stand up player. It's not a dirty play though, Hudson's foot was all across the bag instead of touching the edge. Poor guy that really is horrible!

Hudson knows its part of the game. EY immediately came over, and Olney said he was crying and went apologize when they carted him off. No ill intent, just bad luck

God dammit. He was one of the good guys.
38 and that probably means he's done. Damn shame.

I'm going to tear up a bit dropping him in fantasy here shortly.

Eric Young is a class act!! He stayed next to Huddy the whole time and shook his hand before they carted him off. I'll always root for that kid

Head over to your nearest Brown Derby Liquor, grab a beer, and poor it out for him.
He done.
Hell of a pitcher.

It was a freak accident, but I'm a little surprised you don't see plays like this happen more often. Hate it for Huddy.

Couldnt have been an accident
Dude's foot is all over the bag. Definitely an accident. 100%.

Going into surgery as soon as swelling subsides, maybe he'll try and make another go of it next year.
Hopefully he doesn't start doing HGH

Meh.....he should have just rubbed some dirt on it.

Watching the video, he started tearing up when the crowd started cheering when Hudson was carted off.

6 minute mark on the video if you care

The video I see is only 4 minutes long.......

It's at the 3:30 mark, that guy is drunk.

Huddy has been nothing but a class act and a huge contributor to the Atlanta and Auburn community
This absolutely breaks my heart

Ugh. Shades of Joe Theismann.

Saw someone on twitter suggest that baseball should add the softball rule of an extra base in the baseline that runners go to on plays like this.
Seems like a good idea

wow...hopefully it is just bone and soft tissue and there is no vascular involvement. That was brutal.
And his foot was definitely in the middle of the base. Not the runner's fault or even close to deliberate.
