What he's trying to say is Hunter Pence has been lucky this year. BABIP is a measure of luck to some extent.

Pence has been lucky to some extent but to say that his BA is high and unsustainable because of a high BABIP is ignorant of the facts. Pence hit .322 in his rookie season and is at .323 this year. The difference in between where he's hit closer to .280 is hits to the opposite field. Hes been a pull hitter over the course of his career but hes putting the ball into right more this season. He already has more XBH to right this year than he did all of last year. If he keeps doing that, a high BA isn't unsustainable for him.

the BABIP Nazis are running out of control. I'm tired of this being over used.

He's been the luckiest player in MLB, thats not "to some extent"

No its not ignoring the facts, its the exact opposite. I used his career avg for BABIP to be extremely fair. If he was just 20 points higher, it would be no big deal but he is WAY off his average and will not be able to keep up this pace.

He was extremely lucky then too with a .377BABIP

No one sustains thas sort of BABIP, it just doesn't happen. Can he be a .300 hitter? Sure. His HR's have also decreased this year. His RBI total on this shite hole of team has just been out of this world lucky. His BAPIP with RISP is ~.500. BABIP isn't a magical stat but when its at extermes one way or the other, or far off from a guys career avg. it means something.
