Questions are always asked here about if the Alabama or Clemson could beat the Dolphins. It’s obvious that any NFL would blow them out. However...... do you feel that top college teams could beat any XFL teams? For instance.....2019 LSU? Or Clemson or Bama from past years?

“Could the Defenders beat the Redskins?” Expect that debate to come up soon.

Lol yeah those questions are coming. People are legitimately curious about things like that.

Several of these teams would beat LSU by 3 tds at least. Remember, most of these guys have played some in the NFL. You take away a college team’s depth and it won’t be that competitive.

The worst XFL team would beat LSU and Clemson. The worst A baseball teams would beat LSU baseball.

This is definitely an uninformed statement.

I don’t believe the old argument that an nfl team would utterly destroy a great LSU or Alabama team. Maybe in the past when college athletics didn’t have as much money and the strength, conditioning, nutrition, technology Etc wasn’t nearly what it is in the nfl. But today, the programs I mentioned have tremendous depth, you see them putting out players into the league year in and year out who are making an impact instantly. I just don’t buy it. Also, the offensive game plans in the nfl are becoming more and more similar to what you see in college

LSU and Alabama still had players playing that aren’t going to make nfl rosters. They have even more that will make rosters but need 2-3 more years of development before they are ready to compete at the nfl level.

But how often are these non-NFL-caliber players seeing the field? You mean to tell me that if Stingley and Delpit were on the field against Demaryius Thomas and Jamison Crowder they would be so gassed all the time that LSU’s backups have to come in and get torn apart?

Even the best college teams have starters that will never play in the NFL or won’t for very long. Especially on the Oline and Dline

This is the biggest thing imo. Skill positions and MAYBE QB you might have argument, but you put a college Oline up against an NFL Dline or vice versa and it’s just a slaughter in the trenches. Wouldn’t even be close

There’s no way any team in the XFL should be favored over this past year’s LSU. They have guys that are going to (or could - Stingley, Chase, etc) play meaningful time immediately in the NFL.

CEH
Burrow
Jefferson
Moss
Delpit
Fulton
Chaisson

Should all be seeing the field at some point on Sundays this fall.

Also, the coaching advantage for LSU/Clemson vs any XFL team would be massive.

I’d rather play any of these teams over last years Tua Bama, Clemson, or OSU.

So the additional 5-10 years of physical development wouldn’t make the NFL team control the line of scrimmage? No college team is beating a NFL team. How many NFL starters are on LSU/Clemsons rosters? Starters today NOT eventually. How many positions would LSU/Clemson have the advantage vs their counterpart on the NFL team? Not many and it certainly wouldn’t be the lines.
