No, what cost Alabama the game last night was going 2/15 or so on third down with an average to go on 3rd of like 9.5.

The run game wasn't there because Clemson didn't think hurts could beat them through the air and they were right.

The D played like a game and quarter. They faced 99 offensive plays.

As an lsu fan, you're asking someone else this question. Lsu should be on the same level but has failed to fill that exact problem. When you are a perennial top 15 school you don't rebuild you reload and lsu has failed to do so at the most important position for years.

Hell I wish LSU would get a true freshman QB that sucked like he did.

Hurts was 13 for 31. You're playing the most dynamic offense and best QB in the country. Clemsons D only had to focus on 10 yards beyond the LOS. The fact the Bama wasn't down 3 scores is miraculous.

That won't get it done. Bama's D held that offense in check most of the game. You can't expect them to do it for essentially 2 games worth of snaps in one against Desean Watson.

Also don't forget about 3 or 4 key drops by Bama receivers that killed important drives and would've kept the clock rolling and Bama's D off the field.

Even with all that, Bama literally lost the game at the last second.

Saban' s recipe was for a 4th or 5th year average QB to drive the ship. Make inteligent reads, hand off to a Heisman running back running behind an outstanding OL and making high percentage passes to superstar receivers. Hurts or no one else on his roster fit this bill. That's one of the reasons why he lost!!

LSU fan talking about someone else's QB problems?

If y'all could just get competent game managers you would be on a par with Alabama

He scored the would have been game winning TD last night if Obama's D shows up in the 4th.

Someone spends waaaaay too much time on the poli-board for that auto-correct to happen. Since your username is KosmoKramer i am surprised it didn't auto-correct to:

When he plays with a defense next season not near what this years defense was then we will see how good he is. The Clemson game was the first game he was down in 4th qtr

That true freshman was undefeated going into the National Championship game. Furthermore, that kid displayed season long poise and competitiveness in the SEC. You are entitled to your opinion no matter how wrong.

How does having deficiencies in that department preclude us from evaluating the QB situation at another school? It isn't like any LSU fans are going on about how great our QBs have been.

No, hes bad. I predict he wont be the starter next year, and transfers at some point down the road

not gonna happen....Saban will bring in a graduate transfer qb to backup and mentor Jalen this summer and next season, then Tua will redshirt and then jalen is a complete qb who leaves after three, or a possible Leak/Tebow situation will ensue.

I find it highly improbable that Jalen outright loses his job though. I have no doubt in my mind that Jalen will work as hard as humanly possible to improve his decision making/overall ability in the passing game. Sark has a pretty damn solid resume developing college quarterbacks.

Saban handcuffs all of his QBs with the offense that he wants to run. Case in point, Jimbo Fisher. His offense at Florida State is so much more aggressive and attacking and wide open than it ever was at LSU under Saban.
