Carolina isn't quite there yet. It would be dumb for them to take on an expensive QB.

He’s not even in the top 10 in QB AAV. Hell he may not be in the top 15 for next season alone.

I’m telling you Jacksonville needs to make the call. Give them the 19th pick and trade the number one pick for a king’s ransom. Let someone else destroy their franchise for Bootleg Sunshine.

Lions have already talked to one-third of the league about Matthew Stafford

Not a ton.

And it isn't because Stafford can't play; its because he's going to be looking for another 100M+ payday after this deal expires, with the mileage of a broken back in the rearview at 34. He isn't cheap now, and he won't be cheap going forward. You get certainty at quarterback with him, but not roster flexibilty that drafting and developing gives you, ideally.

The good news is that people in the NFL are always desperate for QB play, and some team will gladly overpay for Stafford.

He could be a bridge for you guys to the next guy if you could make that small problem of being $100 million over the cap go away.

I don't want him on the Saints and I'd be pissed if we traded for him.

But there's no way that's happening anyways, so if I needed a qb, Stafford was available and I didn't have to lose major starters by trading for him he's worth a 2nd and a 3rd. He can qb a team and with a fresh start I can see a Kurt Warner type of resurrection with him.
