Their schedule is easy enough the rest of the way to where they can win out. Winnable road games at Iowa State, Kansas, and Kansas State. Winnable home games vs. Texas and Texas Tech.
I always said this year wasn't their year because of the schedule. Next year should be their year. They just need to find a QB. It's a QB league and WVU hasn't had one since Trickett went down.
I agree with all of this
we can def win out now that the 4 ranked teams in a row is done. The huge problem is at QB. We should be playing Willy.

stop just stop
every Big12 fan base who has come to Morgantown has had nothing but good things to say.
Yes our fan base is rough around the edges but a lot has changed the last 10 year or so.

Miami fans hated the 3-4 they will hate Tony gibsons 3-3-5. We want a attacking 4-3. Butch will groom Dorsey. Dana will be a poor mans Dennis Erickson
the horror!

I really do not think he's a bad coach. He's at fricking West Virginia, a pretty shitty recruiting ground, playing in the big 12 where he has no recruiting advantages whatsoever.
I think if you put him at a school like miami he'd wreck shop

Crest sucks or he'd be playing. Dana is no dumbass, he knows he's coaching for his job and he's going to play the best guys. The fact that Crest can't beat out Skyler fricking Howard speaks volumes to this staffs ability to develop a quarterback.
And this team isn't winning out, Tech is going to light up this D and our offense won't keep up.
Just looking forward to Rich back in Morgantown next year

The hell are you talking about? The ACC is doing just fine.

PA, OH, MD, NJ, NY, VA all produce great recruits. WVU isn't going to get it's first pick but has certainly recruited well in these areas over the years.
Not to mention Florida and Georgia, where they've gotten guys like Geno Smith, Stedman Bailey, Pacman Jones, Noel Devine, Bruce Irvin, Karl Joseph, etc. just in recent years.
The problem is coaching. Dana is a great OC, but he cannot be successful as the head man of a P5 program. I don't blame the guy, he's working his arse off, he's just in over his head.

yep.
I do not see the best going to the Tex 12 though. Big 10 and SEC will get first dibs.

The Big 12 has a better football league, but I see the ACC sticking around longer than the Big 12.
The anchors of the ACC, UNC, Duke, and UVA seem firmly entrenched in their conference. Meanwhile, the anchor of the Big 12, Texas, runs off other schools and is unpredictable in their next move.
My only hope as a WVU fan is that we land safely in the next round of realignment, but I'm NOT optimistic. Such is life.

sec - vt, unc/nc state
big 10 - unc/nc state, nd, uva, syracuse
big 12 - nd, fsu, clemson, gt/miami, louisville/pitt
american: wf, bc, duke (coach k will be long retired by then), any leftovers from above

I still don't understand why VT is scared of firing Beamer. That program is moribund

He still gives me the creeps. Looks like Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs.
