Depending on the difficulty of the course, but I think I average about 3-5 lost balls in a round. We had a friendly discussion about pro golfers and how many balls do they lose. I think that they very seldom lose balls, and even can go weeks without losing one, what do you think?

Pros very seldom lose balls. But they won't play them for weeks. Remember, they aren't paying for these balls. Most of these guys are probably only playing 1 round with a ball, then the swap it for a new one again.

I would say around 3 on the muni I play. More difficult courses prob around 4-5. Its usually lost on my drives.

I believe him. It's hard to lose a ball when it only goes 15 feet.

Most swap out after 3 holes.

3-4 on average. The course I play the most near home maybe 1 or 2.

Big milestone the other day. And at a fairly difficult course. Played every shot of a round with one golf ball. I was pumped up at the end of 18 and had to explain to the strangers I was paired with why I was so damn happy over a 88.

Good for you!

I still have the ball I shot my best round with -- a 76. That, and my only hole-in-one ball.

I cannot believe that I have not struck a golf ball since November 2008.

Very nice.

And why no golf? You missed all the great weather. Just time to sweat now.

Normally all I need is one sleeve. One gets scuffed, and one goes in the woods / water.

Pros probably switch balls every 3 or 4 holes.

3 holes maximum. If they hit a wedge, they will change it the very next hole. They keep anywhere between 15-20 balls in the bag.
