Being of Irish decent, I find the the assumption of Catholicism and the negative "fighting" sterotype associated with the Notre Dame mascot to be offensive. I also feel the leprechaun is degrading to WASPs everywhere....

I have a feeling that whenever Dan Snyder (or his heir) sells the franchise the NFL may make a name change a requirement to approving the transaction.

I am a fan of the team, but that is just a horrible name. I don't think it will change until someone forces the issue though.
