I can’t help but suspect you’re projecting here in some cringey way to make you feel better about something.

Why do you keep connecting being excited about a championship to pouring through Twitter and wearing sweatbands?

The goalposts shifted from "following Lebron, KD, etc etc from team to team" to "pouring over a guy’s twitter feed...wearing the jersey, shore, and matching sweatbands."

We’re all 5’6” have no friends or girlfriends and need heroes to worship to feel good about ourselves

You certainly act like this on here when it comes to LeBron Windhorst

Dude caught a Lebron fan fricking his girlfriend and now he’s trying to prove he’s a bigger man than said guy.

This is much more of an NBA thing than it is in any other sport

Except soccer. This is where I feel like a lot of this comes from. International people love to dick ride their favorite players. Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Zlatan, etc. Basketball has become the second most popular team sport in the world, and for people who have no connection to a USA city, they are going to dickride their favorite player and don't particullarly care what team they root for..........or they become Warriors fans

This. I guess I never understood following a player from team to team. I've liked plenty of non-Spurs players, but always wanted SA to win first and foremost.

You and boom 2.0 don’t know what a ‘fanboy’ is...or you are one.

Probably different for a person that doesn’t have a local team
Or just a crappy fan base/franchise
Charlotte definitely is one.
Even though I’m a Hornets fan, and took them back in when the Bobcats came back, some in area were very turned off
Also, the franchise is just shite in general so a lot just follow a player. Of course wit a ton of UNC fans in the state most the time it’s following a UNC player.

It’s like that for football. The panthers fan base sucks and you see tons of Seahawks (Wilson) and Chargers (Rivers) fans

I hope Borrego makes Charlotte relevant. He was well liked here.

And it still weirds me out to see Tony Parker wearing teal

That makes sense.

Why has he mismanaged y'all so badly? I'm not g2 pretend I pay close attention to Charlotte hoops, but it's been a very long run of mediocrity since he's been there.

Sounds like you don't. You equate being a fanboy with pouring over a guy's twitter, buying jerseys and wearing matching headbands. That's not reality.

This whole thread reads like "I don't understand how people can be different than me."

"I don't understand how people like professional wrestling."
"I don't understand how people like Survivor."
"I don't understand how people like slasher movies."

People like different shite.

Really poor basketball mind.

Didn’t have to navigate the many many intricacies of the different defenses that teams can use to slow down 1 player now. Didn’t have to know everyone’s else’s position on offense or defense so that he could steer the team.

Dude played 1 on 1 basketball against mostly nerds his whole career. He doesn’t know how to build a basketball team.
