The fact we're even confusing MLB's Paul George for its LeBron is a problem, wouldn't you say?

Put the Braves back on TBS. As a kid I rarely ever missed a game. However they were at least good then during their 15 straight division championships. Nobody wants to watch them currently

Valid point, other than the fact that he did, besides that part though...

If Bryce Harper was the type of phenom in basketball that he is in baseball, he would be the biggest star in America

I love how your sig and avatar are all about baseball and yet you obviously don't even watch.

As ESPN does everything it can to destroy its most profitable enterprise - football - by continuing to harp on concussions, football may die in the next 30 years. All the yuppie mommies that won't allow their little Brandons, Taylors and Jordans to play tackle football will steer them to soccer and baseball. High school football may be all but nonexistent in a generation or so. Baseball may simply have to wait out the NFL's demise.

If they are making enough such that giving Harper a $500M contract why do they need to do anything different?

Get Harper's dick out of your mouth. He doesn't dominate the sport anywhere near as much as Curry or Lebron. There's no confusion to be had. After an era of batters hitting 50-60-70 home runs, we're supposed to herald a guy that can hit 30-40 as the Lebron of his sport? It's all about fan perception. What the best players in baseball are doing now isn't all that impressive in comparison to what baseball used to be. Lebron has single handedly dragged shitty Cleveland teams into the playoffs pre-Miami trade. When Harper has that kind of impact on a team, you can start comparing the two.

NBA does a horrible job marketing their clubs especially compared to MLB, is how is put it.

I actually like the way MLB does it rather than NBA. Young fans root for individual players in NBA now, hardly for teams. Baseball hasn't become that way, and I think that's a good thing.

what a joke. baseball's main source of revenues are from ticket sales and local media rights. cutting those two revenue streams in half would get you fired in a hurry and deservedly so.

I'm not suggesting it. I'm just saying that's the only way the ratings will get better. Basically it's impossible for baseball's national TV ratings to reach its previous heights. There's just too many games and too much competition in the fall for baseball to have great national ratings.

-Contract about 4-6 teams(all sports leagues need this)
-Shorten season to 140 games
-Get there stars more commercials and publicity
-Put the interleague rivalries on 4th of July weekend and promote it like NBA does for Christmas
-Use the internet/youtube better. They used to insta-delete anything off youtube. MLB killed themselves doing this. They have gotten a little more relaxed but its still too late

I think Baseball is fine. They are doing huge numbers regionally, very huge. The playoffs have good ratings and one thing most people forget, their hats sell like crazy. Heck they have hundreds of millions of dollars in hat sales from people who don't even watch baseball.

What an odd way of looking at things especially for someone who seems to understand baseball

How you don't see the difference in a single player affecting a game of basketball compared to baseball is strange.

Plus your whole point is about the "steroid era" not to mention the fact that you're basically making the same argument that basketball is shite unless people are putting up MJ numbers...because you know it was super common for so many people to be hitting 50-60-70 homers like you said
