Sure.

All 8 playoff teams in the two years of this thing's existence have been 1-loss (or better) power 5 conference champions.

They may not get as much help as you think.

I've never been arguing about how good Houston actually is. My entire argument in this thread is the likelihood of an undefeated Houston team making the playoff.

I actually think Louisville beats Houston by 2+ scores (assuming Jackson stays healthy).

Holy crap that is bad. No way they get into the playoff with those opponents

Just to go back a little further, there were four 1-loss (or better) power 5 conference champions in 2013.

There weren't in 2012, but only because Ohio State was ineligible. There were 6 major conference teams with 1-loss (or better) that year.

I really don't see Houston getting in over any 1-loss conference champion, unless it's Louisville. But even then, what if Louisville loses a close game on the road at Houston? They'd still have a dominating win over Florida State, a win on the road at Clemson, a win in the ACC Championship game. Would the committee still give Louisville some consideration? The committee has said again and again that head-to-head result only comes into play when the résumés are basically equal. Louisville would have better wins than Houston, a better overall schedule, and be a major conference champion. There would be pressure from the outside to put Houston in, for sure. But they could make a case for Louisville, still.

I agree. UH would get beat by Alabama, Louisville, LSU, or even Michigan. Schedule is horrific.

Reminds me of Johnny Jenkins/ Klingler run n shoot days. Everyone puts up numbers until you play a physical ball control opponent. UH is just a tease.

If they beat Louisville and Louisville wins the ACC, Houston will most definitely be in the playoff. They will have had wins over Oklahoma and Lousiville. Better than any 2 wins LSU will have by the end of the year.

Houston is a lock if they are undefeated. It is extremely hard to go undefeated in FBS, regardless of schedule. Hell LSU lost to bad UK and Arkansas teams the year it won the MNC. Basing this year's SOS on last year's records is completely absurd. I'm not saying the AAC is the SEC, but it's also not little sisters of the poor.

The AAC is definitely the little sisters of the poor compared to the power 5 conferences.

It stacks up pretty well H2H against the Big XII.

Houston isn't some scrub on defense. They aren't Alabama but they got a lot of athletes in their 11. Their d-line is legit. This isn't your typical G-5 score 1000 points team

They would beat LSU.
