Houston Astros tickets (4/2/2022)

I'm trying to get tickets for our kids Christmas gift for the Astros v Phillies game in April. I've never bought tickets online through Vivid Seats, Seat Geek, etc... I didn't realize how steep the dang fees are!
The tickets aren't on sale through the Astros box office yet, and I was wanting to secure them come Christmas. What's the best route? The tickets with fees are $200 a pop. Is that about what to expect? Any advice would be much appreciated!

I would definitely wait. Just print out some fake tickets for now if you need them for Christmas.

I would advise on something other than tickets to that game.
Good chance that baseball isn't being played yet in April thanks to the labor stoppage.

You are aware that there is a lockout ongoing.

"good chance"? Is that opinion or the general consensus? I seriously haven't been following the details closely.

Just buy them some Astros gear and to go along with it, tell them/write in a card that they can wear it to XYZ game you’ve got planned in Houston.

I have compared the fees from the secondary market with the fees straight from the Astros and it’s no better. Most of the time it’s worse going strait from the Astros.

Thanks, I was leaning that way. Didnt even consider the lockout, I dont know much about the situation honestly.

Have any tickets been released?

Yeah fans haven't even got their season tickets..they are super inflated. You should be able to get those same tickets for $50-80.

Both.
I hope that they work it out, but I would ne surprised if they start on time.

Just chiming in to agree with everyone saying to wait on tickets and get the kids some Astros gear and/or a buddy's club membership w/ a promised game trip. No way would I pay those kinds of fees for a regular season game.

Get some high gloss card stock if you go with this idea, we have done it in the past and it was awesome

Buy tickets day of. That’s what I’d did during my time in Houston. You can get lower level for less than face. The Phillies won’t be a super in demand game either.
