And he did it without anyone knowing who he was.

quote:

• Guy gets past security and into the football operation building, the John McKay Center

• Mixes in so well that nobody realizes he’s an imposter as he makes it all the way into a Jacuzzi

• Sits in a Jacuzzi with other players and they don’t get suspicious

• Grabs a meal, nobody realizes something is off

• Grabs a jersey and helmet, still no big deal

• Gets dressed for practice and makes it onto the field, nobody notices

• Starts fielding punts and a “football staffer” finally realizes some guy is living out his dream

Clay Helton's recruiting is so bad that they're pulling guys off the street quite literally

And they can't tell them apart from real players.

Where did he get the equipment? If it’s from someone’s locker it seems like the people next to him would notice or the guy who’s missing his stuff.

There's so many athletes at USC with all the sports they play and all the International athletes, you could just say you're some Slovakian water polo player.

I mean they must have thousands. Not too difficult to get in as every USC athlete gets use of the McKay center not just the football team.

Now getting on the practice field is a different story.

This is what confuses me. When I was at TCU we had new guys come in all the time, many times I saw a new face and wondered who the hell that was. The staff didn't do a good job of introducing people. We had a transfer from Texas come in over the summer one year and no one knew who he was at first. New walk ons could come in at any time in the offseason, and new scholarship players would either pop up at the beginning of winter semester or summer. So if a new guy came in I didn't think much of it.

However its the equipment that gets me. At least at TCU our equipment staff was very stingy. I got the nickname "flats" because my first week of offseason I had to do all the conditioning workouts with flat sneakers because they didn't have any cleats in my size for me and had to order them. Getting any piece of equipment at times was like pulling teeth. So it had to haven been stolen somehow. Same with getting a locker. If you were a walk on you had to earn your way into the main locker room. You had to use the visitors locker room until you got promoted. I was in the visitors locker room for 2 months until I got my own locker in the main locker room.

I bet that guy had been drinking too. Either that or he has nerves of steel.

I seem to remember Archie Manning telling a similar story about some guy that actually made into a Saints game for a play back when he played.

That is hilarious. I would of thought someone would have noticed him before he put on the jersey and equipment. At least he got a free meal out of it.
