And the Hornets are more likely to let Peja expire and go shopping in 2011

impossible

paul: $16.3M
okafor: 12.5M
west: $7.5M (if he accepts the player option)
posey: $6.9M
wright: $3.9M
collison: $1.5M

$48.6M

if you take out wright, there still isn't enough for a max deal

Gonna be looking for a Juju sighting tonight vs Sixers. Bowser should try him at PF with Songalia at C. He can block shots & grab some boards I would think.

West will definitely opt out. The Hornets have his Bird rights and can sign him even if they are over the cap. Wright has a team option for that year. And most importantly, league revenue is very likely to rebound by 2011 increasing the salary cap.

So without consistent mpg to try to put up numbers, MoPete is essentially worthless

He missed too many wide arse open shots to deserve minutes. He's just washed up like you said.

then we'll be fricked anyway and it won't matter

we'd have to renounce him and his birds rights to have his salary off our cap

and i said even without his salary, we wouldn't have max cap room

teams like the hornets are still dealing players like hilton armstrong. i seriously, seriously, doubt this

JuJu has been getting a few (like 5) minutes the past few games, but Hilton hasn't seen the court for a single minute since 12/14, so I don't think his being traded will result in any changes to the current rotation.

In all fairness, go take a look at this draft class. It was awful. Just plain awful.

1. 2008 showed that there may or may not be draft picks to sign.

2. No one is sure what the cap will be in the summer of 2011.

3. Going shopping doesn't necessarily mean signing a max free agent.

not even close

Celtics had THREE in the 1st round in 2001 and took Joe Johnson/Joe Forte/Kedrick Brown

Johnson played 33 games for the Celtics and got traded to PHX

Forte played 8 games for the Celtics and got traded to Seattle

Brown played in 80 games for the Celtics and got traded to Cleveland

On NBA today Ryan Russillo said Tyrus Thomas and Jerome James for David West and Devin Brown.

New Orleans gets about 5.5 in cap space, i believe.

I don't know what to think of this yet.
