Yep, terrible timing for the injury, sucks.

Just looked it up, Seattle leads the NFL with 5.3 yards per carry, Saints are 2nd with 5.2.

It appears that some people have never seen Russell Wilson play.

who? me?

everything I just said is absolutely true. I think most people don't understand the type of zip he puts on the ball. He has top 3 arm strength and great accuracy

Why is that? The Saints wouldnt just throw it less just to. If they would be throwing it less a game, that means they would be running it better.

No. We're on the same page. Some people see Wilson play a couple times, look at some stats and now they're experts.

I'm a big Wilson fan, but no.

That's what happens when you argue with dnm3305.

Dallas showed up and punched Seattle in the mouth. I don't think any team could've beaten the Cowboys yesterday.

It doesn't make Wilson any less of a QB. Peyton would've gotten murdered against that rush.

like I said, his arm strength is underrated. He puts serious heat on the ball.

No doubt. But he's not top 3. Let's be reasonable.

usually the bigger arms tend to be the younger qbs

in terms of fitting a ball into a tight window type arm strength (which is the only type but people confuse this with the distance a qb can throw it)

I have

vick (it's uncanny, too bad he sucks)
luck
Wilson
flacco

who can throw a ball faster than these guys?

If Brees' Att/Gm went donw by 10, what do you think would happen to his YPA? They would frickin go up.

For Craigbiggio, boom roasted, and lsupride...

ummmmmm, you realize his yards would also go down right? So the average would prolly stay the same

Based on what

Keep it going. This is funny.

Super Bowl Saints 2009 -
Brees Stats - 34.3 Att/G, 8.54 YPA
Saints Overall Rushing - 468 Att, 2016 Yds, 4.5 YPA

Saints 2010 -
Brees Stats - 41.1 Att/G, 7.02 YPA
Saints Overall Rushing - 380 Att, 1519 Yds, 4.0 YPA

Brees threw*** it less in '09 because he didnt HAVE to throw it as much. The Saints were ranked no.6 in rushing that year as a team. He became more efficient and his fricking YPA went up as he threw the damn ball less. The Saints are less efficient in '10, he throws the ball more and his YPA went down.

In addition to your list, Cam, Kaep and Rodgers.

Rodgers no doubt. Maybe not faster, but he's in that group.

Ummmmmmmmm, his number of attempts wouldnt be so diluted with incompletions. Many times they use the short passing game as the running game. He would play in a more efficient offense like the Seahawks do and would throw much higher percentage throws like the Seahawks do many times off of play action.

Your argument doesn't make a lot of sense. Yards per attempt is a reflection of accuracy and the verticality(couldn't think of a better word) of the passing offense. There is usually a trade-off between the two, which makes it a good metric (besides being easy to calculate) to evaluate a QB and passing offense.

So while the short passing game results in fewer yards per completion, it would lend itself to a higher completion percentage, which would be corrected in the YPA. On the other hand, if they stopped those short passes, then the YPC will go up but the completion percentage will go down, keeping the YPA relatively consistent.

All of them have excellent arm strength, but I've never thought they had favre/jawalrus type arms

The guys I mentioned I think do have that...it's one of the more misunderstood skill (most people think distance) and really one of the more overrated skills. Look at Manning, Brady and Brees...None of them ever had a big arm in terms of velocity.

favre and vick are so freaky because that ability never left favre and so far vick can still rocket that motherfricker out

You would think so, but that's not always the case, such as the above 09 Saints vs 10 Saints

Not really sure what your criteria is.

arm strength = velocity

Rodgers
Kaep
Cam
Luck
Flacco
maybe even Cutty

All ahead of Wilson.
