89.1 rating versus 101.2

60% vs 64%

23 TDs vs 26

And Charles pads passing stats in a way lynch doesn't

You can keep your delusions. How many times was wilson sacked last year?

How are you using that as a "stat padder", he's part of their offense because the lack of great receivers. He's also one of the best receiving backs in the league and they run A LOT of screens with him.

It isn't like that was something new, Charles has always been that way. Look at his best season in the league, 468 receiving yards as well.

If you want to honestly bitch and complain that Wilson has no receiving weapons, neither does Alex Smith. Bowe is far from what he used to be and Jamaal Charles was their leading receiver last year.

Wilson isn't a manager, but he's in the top part of the tier2 QBs. Roethlisberger started his career with a 8.9ypa, but we all know he was a manager with elite potential. Then came the downfall of the run game, then the defense, and now he's clearly shown he's just a tier 2QB.

Wilson was sacked 44 times
Smith was sacked 39 times

Time will tell, until then, he's a tier 2 QB.

Could Russell Wilson be elite some day and carry the entire team on his back? - Maybe.
quote:

Is he elite today? - No. He is 2nd tier along with Rivers, Romo and that bunch. No amount of stats (high QB rating or Y/A) is going to disprove that. The truth is Wilson just doesn't throw enough times per game to make a claim for being 'elite'.
When did this become a discussion of whether or not he's "elite"?

You're either elite or you're a game manager. There's no gray area.

Pretty sure OP realized how dumb of a statement it is and shifted the goalposts slightly.

He gets sacked because he doesn't know how to move in the pocket.

He moves out of the pocket, he doesn't climb the pocket like say Drew does. He mostly moves out of the pocket all together. He is effective doing this but it causes lots of sacks because you leave your protection. Calm down ladies

ETA: By the way, we're seeing what happens when the team really is on his shoulders for wins. He just can't pull it off. THAT is the definition of a game manager. Somebody that can steer the ship as long as there are no emergencies.

You have blaimed Wilson for sacks, not realizing the Seahawks had the second worst rated Oline in the entire NFL last year. Wilson is widely considered one of the best qbs at avoiding the pressure and sacks. You honestly have no right to be considered in this thread anymore

Hey, I didn't say the oline is fantastic by any stretch, but it isn't exactly news that leaving the pocket can cause extra sacks. Now, is he leaving the pocket because of the bad line? Possibly. But if the line is so terrible Lynch must really be a bad dude because he has no problem running behind them.

ETA: By the way lots of smart quarterbacks don't get sacked alot even with a bad oline due to ability to read the defense more quickly

Wilson has admitted that he needs to be better in the pocket.

Lynch is a dad dude. And there o line is still awful, that is a fact. I dont care what theories people have about sacks and leaving the pocket, most Qbs in the league would have more sacks then Wilson if they played on the Hawks
