This blows my mind. I've watched Haynes King play at least 7 games in the last 2 seasons and the guy is a freaking stud. High IQ, can absolutely run, tough as nails, can easily go scan through progressions while climbing the pocket, and knows how to back shoulder and also throw his guys open. So this is a shock when AI told me he's probably going undrafted:

*AI Overview

"Haynes King is projected as a borderline draft pick, likely a late-round selection (Day 3, potentially the seventh round) or an undrafted free agent (UDFA) in the 2026 NFL Draft. His physical style, toughness, and football IQ are considered strong assets, but scouts have concerns about his accuracy on short passes and durability."

Does this seem right to anyone else that has followed Haynes' games at GT?

No, he’s 24 years old, gets hurt all the time, and averages like 9 air yards per attempt.

Put simply, he can’t throw

He left A&M because Max Johnson was transferring in.

Haynes King comes from an incredible family. The young man will absolutely succeed in any endeavor he seeks once his playing days are over. King's pedigree is deep and he gets it honest.

I'm sure you're very proud of your 2nd cousin once removed.

Even as a Tech fan I don't think he is accurate enough to be an NFL starting QB.
If there is a creative OC out there, I think he could do well in a Taysom Hill jack of all trades type of role.

King would be fine in the NFL if given a shot. But the NFL is full of a bunch of scared lemmings who are always looking for the next poster boy like Herbert who looks great in a uniform and can throw it 80 years although neither of those things win anything. There a lot of horrible NFL QB’s and they keep drafting guys who do nothing. Penix was a first round pick and he’s trash. Same with McCarthy. I also think Gunner Stockton would be a good NFL QB but he probably won’t get much of a chance either. Hopefully winners can get a chance.
