I don't care what any stat says about Ryan Anderson. That dude cannot defend for shite. He sucks.
I haven't looked at the stats for Ryan Anderson. I've just watched the games. And he hasn't been bad defensively. I've been pleasantly surprised.

Again, it's hard to believe because I know how bad he was for the Pelicans defensively. I was apprehensive about him coming to the Rockets for that very reason. But he's been fine on defense.

Then he's being hidden somehow. That's great coaching. Good for you guys.

Well P you did tell pels talk in the offseason that HOU would put together a middle of the pack kinda defense. In fact there's a poster over there who is gonna be literally eating his ballsack when CC finishes top 16 or 17 whatever the exact number was
Haha I forgot that there was a guy who said that. I gotta find that thread.

You guys realize the season isn't over, right?

Plenty of time for shitty defenders to regress to the mean.

As Boom says, players don't even start trying until after the ASBreak, then we will see.

And I thought they could be 16th or so on defense.

Over the past 19 games they are 6th in defensive rating.

So they've been playing way better on defense than I ever imagined.

I agree I think it does hurt Harden some if Gordon gets the 6th man and D'antoni gets COY

Anderson always played hard for the Pelicans. He really tried to play defense but just was not that good at it. Some nights he was actually very good on D but for the most part he got abused. But with that being said he is a good rebounder on offense and defense.

I think the pace that the Rockets play and guards that can defend are really helping Anderson. He does not have to be great just ok.

Gordon has found his place in the NBA and is excelling sometimes it is all about the fit.

Last year HOU was a post all star break kinda team. This year they came out with a sense of urgency to start the season.

That was kinda tough to tell after the 11-7 start.

Well of course that's true, and they do have a tough schedule in I think February, so I'm expecting them to regress some.

But this team is getting stronger on defense and they aren't going to regress to being a bad defensive team like so many predicted. They will be average at worst.

The opened the season playing 14 of 20 games on the road. That's an Unprecedented schedule disadvantage to open a season.

They played 14 of their first 20 games on the road, including two separate 5-game road trips. With new players, new coaches, and a new system. 11-7 while playing 14 road games and only 4 home games with a brand new team WAS a good start.

27-28 before the break

14-13 after the All Star Break

If you say so...

Leave it to a guy like you to only look at the W-L record. it's reminiscent of the time you tried to prove that rust isn't real by posting teams W-L records

Just a reminder. According to boomshockalocka:
