re: Has there ever been an NBA player teetering on greatness/irrelevancy as much as Hardwn?

I have not been able to watch as many games this playoffs but from what i was seeing Hardin looks like he does not give a shite and his effort and body language seems to back up that point. Didn't Embid call him outbthis playoffs for sucking?

Well he outplayed Jojo in rd 1 and is available to play. Usually guys don’t give shite to teammates who are outplaying them and on the court while they are on the sideline.

Is Harden the unluckiest player to ever step foot on a basketball court?

no that would probably be the guy who broke his leg and the bone came out the side of it
but over the last half decade, easy answer.

Lol. He had better advanced stats because his teammates made shots off his passes. He needs other players to score for him now, because he is no longer an elite scorer of the basketball.

Imagine using elite playmaking as a knock on a player.
“CP only had 16 assist because his teammates made shots.”
He don’t deserve the credit

You said he outplayed embiid. He had slightly better advanced stats and I gave the reason why. To say he outplayed embiid is disingenuous

Boom I see you are still here defending Sir Hardens vanishing acts in the postseason. Gotta respect it.

When you got 4 metrics that all say the same thing you have your answer. I can see you making a push for someone else if maybe one or two went the other way. But that’s not the case here

4 advanced metrics that say he was slightly better. Slightly.
Let's look at more.
Efg: embiid
Ts%: embiid
Game score:embiid

EFG and TS are both already included in the other stats.
TS only looks at shooting and scoring. when you include the playmaking thats what gives him the overall edge.

Harden fricking sucks lmao

Go make some more super hero comparisons eggy
stick to that.

So if CP gets no credit for 16 assists does harden?????
Posted on 5/5/22 at 1:55 pm to dukke v
i was making fun of him discounting hardens elite playmaking by saying the same about CP. It was a joke to point out how foolish he was being.
Posted on 5/5/22 at 1:56 pm to Boomshockalocka
Well to be fair… Maxy has outplayed Harden in these playoffs so far.
Posted on 5/5/22 at 1:58 pm to dukke v
Maxey is being guarded by one guy. Harden is being guarded by a whole team. That is by design.

Why did you ignore gm score? That's been a big crutch for you.

We use game score bc bball ref doesn’t have all of the advanced metrics for Individal series. So game score is the best one to use.
Since the raps series was the first one of this years playoffs, it was easy access to get VORP BPM WS WS48 etc for that one series. Whereas once the second round starts you can’t go those # for specific series.

Name me a player who has won a big playoff series with his best teammate out. Not a first round series v a 8 seed.

Lebron - no AD, round 1 loss one year, no playoffs the next. No Kyrie, loses to GSW. Bron has never won a damn thing in the playoffs when he had key guys out.
Lebron made the finals with a roster in 2007 that no one thinks is even close to good.
Drew Gooden, Zydrunas and Larry Hughes were his supporting cast.
That means Lebron won 3 series that year where he had no best teammate cause they all sucked
