re: Has there ever been an NBA player teetering on greatness/irrelevancy as much as Hardwn?

2021- lost in 2nd round
2020- lost in 2nd round
2019- lost in 2nd
2017- lost in 2nd
2016- lost in the 1st round

You’re trying to redefine “deep run” like you try to redefine everything for Hardens benefit but in reality those aren’t deep runs.

How about if I say lebron has only made 1 deep run in the last 4 seasons. Then you will agree with the wording.

Yeah, that’s how it works

Bron didn’t even make the playoffs this year with no AD.
Last year, Bron lost in rd 1 with no AD.

Harden never had a losing season. And has won at least one playoff series for damn near a decade.

Bron been outta round one only once in the last 4 seasons.

Come on Boom, you're better than that. Lebron is the clear cut #1 guy on the Lakers. The Lakers suck, but he is the bus driver on that squad.
Harden on the otherhand isnt even the #2 guy, Tyrese Maxey is. Hell, at this point I'm not even sure if he's better than Tobias Harris on the 76ers.

6 years of making second round at least. Best current streak for a star with no close second.

Also false, 1 finals win and another finals appearance doesn’t equal 2nd round losses. What happened to you? How did your mind completely break over knighting for this player? There’s not a single human being with a working brain who would equate the finals and the second round.

The bar has been lowered so much, making the second round of the playoffs is a career benchmark for Jim. Print the shirts!

Laughable take. And clear L too. Consdeiring all of the metrics that agreed he was their best player in the raps series. Maybe your eye test is a little off.

Boom you'd be a hell of a lawyer with your ability to pivot. It's impressive really.

Harden will be remember as a damn good offensive player. He won't be mentioned anywhere with the all-time greats because he hasn't and will not win anything unless he changes period. He is consistent is only one thing. His production drops off bigly in the postseason if you look at his entire career. Add in the games where he completely just shites the bed. Other all time greats have done similar things but the difference is they have led teams to championships. Winning championships can cancel out some of those bad moments. I just don't see Harden being able to do that.

I mean you’re wrong but you seem to live in an alternative reality so it’s hard to know whether or not you actually grasp facts. Maybe you do actually believe this silliness.

His BPM drops form 11 all time to 13.

Falls of a cliff right

Funny red. Good to see you btw.

Don’t pay that guy any mind.

He thinks 10 players were better than Lebron this season.

Oh I am wrong who is the other star player who consistently has advanced in the playoffs every year for the last half decade plus?

His PPG and Assist numbers for his career go down from regular to post season while averaging more minutes in the playoffs. Compared to guy like LBJ where his numbers go up in the postseason. This numbers dropping in the postseason isn't just Harden. Curry does it too. But Curry has rings so we can excuse it Bubba. Harden's lack of postseason success keeps the fact that he shrinks in the postseason on full display.

You used to say Jim was winning a title every single year, as if it were a formality. The times, they have changed.

There is something to be said for being the only player in the league you can pencil into rd 2 before the season starts. Has certainly not had the injury breaks go his way in later rounds.

James Harden does not have all-time great level dedication to the game. If he put as much time into his body over the last 10 years as he has into strip clubs, he would not be breaking down at 32 years old.

Harden does not have the same burst and lift any more.

Let’s catch up:
Sleepwalking to Finals (Second round now admirable)
Not a super team guy (Joins KD and Kyrie)
Not a guy for an easy road to the playoffs (Goes to the East)

That bar just gets lower and lower. You’re going to break your ankle from so many pivots. I’ll give you the consistency though, you’ve never wavered.

I see this often but who exactly has gotten more out of their natural talent than him? Basically no one. That is from hard work.

Not a physical freak like Bron, Giannis, KD, etc.
no NBA bloodline like Steph.
Just a 6’5” average athlete for nba standards.

It is funny as all get out that his work ethic is questioned. Ask his teammates.

And not remotely relevant. 2nd round isn’t a deep run.

The thing about being a Robin is, when Batman is injured you have to step up and find a way to victory. Sixers need the old Harden not old Harden.
