re: Has the NFL expressed any fear of backlash?

the real problem is the upcoming youth.
I agree with this. Many 30-40 year olds I know grew up watching games all Saturday and Sunday and became fans as adults like you describe. Today, younger people don’t seem nearly as interested and this will likely only worsen with younger generations. My kids would rather watch Netflix, Soccer, or go play than watch a football game.

The mistake was similar to the one ESPN and the sports media made: forcing political agendas into sports. People watch sports for entertainment, and for an escape from the every day world, they want their sports, not politics.

i'm hoping the players are meet with boos and empty stadiums...
the problem is we've been without sports for months and when something finally comes back sports fans will consume it

Has anyone seen numbers on NFL Sunday ticket? It might be too early to gauge interest in this fall's season because people may not be signing up when no-games are a threat, but number of paying viewers when the first real game happens, and compare it with the past decade could be one way to gauge the interest of individual fans.

Most trump supporters like myself just check in here to tell you to frick off libatard.
Yep! And our president said underneath Mt Rushmore to say it loud and say it proud!
frick the NFL and their American hating athletes. The loudest we can be is turning the TV off this fall and getting outdoors. Golf, fishing, hunting, camping, etc.
So much more to do than sit in Dome traffic or your couch on Sundays!

Until they start seeing seats empty, tv numbers drop, etc., then I don’t think they’re worried. People who are mad at the NFL will actually have to stop consuming the product.
And they will
Ratings will plummet games will be empty and the NFL will see a BIG hit
It’s gonna be huge

Don't even try man, some idiot with come up with some contrived reason why Redskin isn't the Native American equivalent of the N word.
The things people get bent out of shape about.

One of my good friends at work came up to me and out of the blue he said he is done with the NFL. We always talked football at work and he always would say "How bout dem Jaguars?" even if we lost by 30 points. Honestly I think this time away and watching these fools including Goodell constantly throwing all this political bs at us has really rubbed alot of true sport's fans the wrong way. The beach and traveling more on weekends is going to be fun again with no NFL on Sundays for me.

This just in: along with the "black national anthem" the NFL will be assigning black bathrooms, water fountains, and players will now have their own space on the back of team buses!

He is obviously joking but schools are planning to let all but white kids go back to class so I would not be surprised with anything proposed today.

I have barely watched any NFL for the last 8 or so years. I haven't missed it one bit. Of course that is easier to do being a Redskins fan.

I hope they crumble to the ground after all this shite.
