Has the “Hype Video” jumped the shark?

Every time I visit TD, there’s a new hype video for this game and that game.

Seriously. How many times can you put together highlight clips, have some dramatic background music, and a washed-up has-been narrate and still be fresh.

It is played out IMO.

Downvote away.

The LSU hype videos are pretty solid and kept under 2.5 minutes usually.

What has absolutely jumped the shark is people commenting "I want to run through a brick wall" after watching them.

I downvote all hype videos if I get the chance. They are so cheesy and lame. I never watch them, just downvote

I love the LSU one's but there's something to be said about doing one every week.

2-3 times a season tops.

They aren’t terrible, but yeah they’re way overused. Hype video for a top 25 matchup? That’s fine, but teams are making hype videos for their 70 point rent a win blowouts now.

If you dont like them dont watch them

It's good branding. The more viewable shite out there the better for the product. It's like a movie trailer.

I'm sure the players love it too.

“LSU Releases EPIC hype video ahead of Georgia Southern” really cheapens the concept.

I wish folks would put their money where their mouth is and try it.

I don’t like the new narrations they started doing from last years bama game into this year, they’re pretty cheesy. Except the svp one, that was solid. I agree on only doing them for big games though

Recruiting has become so social media based that It’s become a recruiting tool. As cheesy as you think it is, it’s free exposure.

What is wrong with you?

You really felt a need to make a thread about a weekly LSU highlight video?

On a site originally built for...

LSU fans.

Grow up.

Football season is pretty quick.

It’s barely even double digits.

I mean seriously, don’t watch if you don’t care. I don’t like hype videos, but I must admit these are really well done. They are very short and to the point which makes for easy watching.

Washed up has been?

Shaq, SVP and Ryan Clark are "washed up has beens" interesting take.

Some of you bitch about the dumbest things.

Why are y’all bringing this up now? Because some other guy brought it up and you jumped on the bandwagon?

Wasn’t that LSU’s first game of the season? I wouldn’t exactly fault a school for releasing a hype video game one (regardless of opponent.)

I don’t care to watch other teams hype videos, but I sure don’t care if they release one every week.

Dude, relax. I’m sorry someone isn’t 100% on board with the video your cousin made or something. It’s not that big of a deal.
