I think people are in a rush to throw dirt on the Lakers grave. It is very premature. They have a ton of ways to improve. They will still be loaded and better next season.

God we can only hope. He has ruined the sport for many.

Not that big of a deal. Its just a matter of team hopping to the right situation. Plus 2 of the 4 were rewarded with an artificial pandemic banner to even qualify

Unless you consider Robert Horry, Danny Green, and John Salley world beaters?

Strange. I have never seen any player win one all by himself.

It will be AD's team and the front office need to really clean up shop to compliment and build around AD with LeBron in the robin role.

AD is not that guy, though.

Sure

1. S&T Schroeder- Lowry
2. Trade Kuzma- Hield+
3. Draft (1st round, buy 2nd).
4. FA, excp, min guys- Conley+
5. Resign Horton-Tucker

Lowry/Conley
KCP/Hield
James/Horton-Tucker
Davis/1st or min vet
Gasol/Harrell

It's a deeper team than this year and still has room to add other pieces. It is a solid playoff team and with the right breaks, could make a deep run.

Likely.

I don’t think he leaves the Lakers because he is trying to cement his legacy as a Laker player. I doubt he ring chases anymore as he can make more money in LA which is his goal now.

AD is not that guy. He’s a Robin and will always be a Robin. A good Robin, but he’s not an alpha and will not win a championship as the leader of a team.

LeBron would have to take MLE type of money to bring in a winner (a guy like Dame or somebody who could lead a championship team) and I don’t think Lebrons ego would allow him to be a role player.

I doubt other players want to play with LeBron now. The shine is off and they want to team up with younger guys who have a better shot at winning.

They mortgaged their future to win a title and it worked out last year. It won’t be pretty going forward though. They will be a middle of the pack team that may make the playoffs, but will get bumped in the 1st or 2nd round.

frick LEBRON. I delight at his failures. I laugh heartily at his demise. I wish him nothing but the absolute worst both professionally and personally.

I'm pretty sure Mike Greenberg will run that subject into the ground like he does everything else on his radio show where he only talks about someone's legacy.

As others have said:

Lebron’s problem is his ego.

His ego will not allow him to take a pay cut.
His ego will not allow him to defer to another superstar on the court.
His ego will not allow him to defer to another superstar off the court. (Media attention, etc)

He is just like Tiger Woods. Tiger’s ego would not allow him to listen to coaching and change his swing to improve his motion and keep himself healthy.

Neither will finish with the number of titles they “should have won”. And both should have been the GOAT but will be stuck in the #2 spot behind MJ and Jack.

AD was an absolute no-show this season and he needs to reinvent himself this off-season. No matter what I say about this season after that statement it pales in comparison that AD needs to find a heart. Just a terrible effort this year. AD has to get his body in shape to go to war. Right now he's the Tin Man.

I'm not sure the Laker's GM is proving himself to be anything close to Jerry West's skill level with the free agents. Letting Howard leave and for the rest of the season looking for someone like Howard to take his place was stupid. Not paying Rondo and trading Danny Green was another bad move. The GM spent a lot of time trading pieces that were all difference makers.

LeBron and AD will be back. Basketball is simply the easiest sport to rebuild on the fly. See Brooklyn Nets.
