As it stands, Roddick only has 1 major, and is not in the talks of truly great American tennis players like Connors and Mac

However, Roddick was the clear number 2, and suffered the following losses to the games all time GOAT in grand slams :

Australian- Semi loss, semmi-loss

Wimby- Semis loss, Finals loss, finals loss, finals loss

Us open- Finals loss, quarter final loss

So conservatively, without Fed, Roddick would be looking at this for a career:

3 wimby titles

2 Us open titles

1 Australian title

That would have in as an all time great. That is tough to be born with the GOAT like that

If he were on their level, he would have won some of those.

Speculation. Presumably, there would have been another living, breathing competitor.

Mickelson without Tiger would probably have a few more majors.

Not the same. Nadal is still considered top 5 minimum all time great. So his legacy was not as affected as Roddicks

True. But again, Phil is still already considered an all-time great.

Roddick is married to Brooklyn Decker.

He wins.

Les is a good one. But not quite on this level IMHO. Although, without Saban, Les is never Les. He has a butterfly effect at LSU because of Saban.....

That's what I was thinking. Imagine how many majors he would have without Nadal.

This is the better argument. Fed would go from tennis GOAT, to all time GOAT over Gretzky

Fed could have realistically won like 4-5 French in a row and would be considered one of the GOAT clay court players

Yep, but as it stands, he still gets to go down with a legacy that will last forever.

Andy will be a 1 major forgotten player, and he was one sperm away from being an american tennis legend. That stings worse
