As much as I enjoy watching some of the young guys in the league today, those of us that watched Jordan redefine the game in the late 80's and 90's will always hold a spot for the guy. The NBA as it's played today is a reflection of his game...
I actually got a chance to see him play his rookie year in 1985 in NOLA at UNO Lakefront Arena. The Hawks were playing a slate of games there as home games (don't remember why but they did.) Talked my Dad into getting two tickets to see Chicago and Jordan come to town to play Atlanta and Dominque. both young guys put on an absolute show that night, in a game that went 2OT's with Bulls winning 132-129. Jordan went for 34, 8 and 7...

This is how I felt this weekend when I couldn't get the 4s that dropped. I felt that way again on Monday when I couldn't get the 72-10 11s

We need to define millennials. I watched Jordan play in person 3 times when I lived in Charlotte. No one has ever lifted a team, league, and sport like Jordan did with basketball. Everything he touched was gold... Gatorade, Nike, shoes, jerseys etc.

Yep. Smacking on the bottom of the bottle and making the tops pop was our rally call in baseball.

He was the last of an era. Basketball had a storyline. Rivals. Good vs evil. The Pistons, Celtics, Lakers, and Bulls. Good times.
