I was just a regular guy appreciating baseball and the best teams and players. Never cared about their color. Never saw racism. Why do they continuously stoke the fires?

Racism was way worse then than today. The cries of racism today are silly.

We? We are tired of them trying to make it a thing.

quote:

Hank completely deserves credit for what he persevered against. Almost more than a man.

100% but they are acting like he wasn’t respected until the last couple decades because of his skin color. His number was retired in 1976.

Hank Aaron dealt with some serious shite in the form of racism as he approached Ruth's hallowed record. The dude heard and saw shite no man should.

However, associating his name with how the Braves only have 1 African American player and 4 Hispanics that "look" black is a slap in the face. Aaron wanted the best team on the field despite race and would be proud of what this team has accomplished

Because racism claims sell news papers, get the right political candidates elected, and push the country in the direction those who want govt control would have us move to.

Imagine half the nation thinking what the other half of the nation believes based on what someone on TV says. Then basing their decisions on what people tell them about others.

Ex people from all over the world think that everyone from Louisiana looks, talks, and acts like coach O when that can’t be further from the truth.

I mean I’m pretty sure Hank Aaron went some some pretty extreme racist shite. Pretending it didn’t exist 40 years ago just makes the sky screamers worse.

I loved Hank Aaron. Never even thought of him as a black man or a white man. Now, the messaging is that I am supposed to respect people more or less because of their skin color. I do not agree with this. This has the danger of tainting my views in a way that they were never tainted before.

How many times do we hear....he was the first black player at....some school, a lot. Google...Jerry Levias, you won;t get far before ya fread that he was the first black player in the old Southwest Conference at SMU.

Don Delillo's classic ENDZONE a book about Taft Robinson the first black player at a Texas college.

Google...

Doug Williams
Eddie Tolan
Hattie McDaneil
Ernie Davis
Howard Drew
Deford Bailey
Jack Johnson
George "Little Chocolate" Dixon
Jackie Robinson
Willie Thrower

,,,,you will told how they were the first black to...

Why do we need to know that?

The race thing will always be with us, simply how it is and we apparently want it that way.

Youtube ...Texas vs Arkansas 1965...funny watching a football game without any black athletes out there.

Know this, when they talk about this extreme racism there was not a single team in the south. Fact.

Hank Aaron died 2 weeks after he received his inoculation this summer. It was barely reported at all.
